Thanks Thom!
I have definitive proof of the whereabouts of Peter Newton Cameron,
from 1857 and to his death. Before that, I know he was in Schuyler
County in 1848, for I have his marriage certificate. His first son,
James Newton Cameron was born in 1850, and is always listed as being
born in Illinois. His brother George, the same, the rest of the
children list as being born in Missouri, or Kansas.
Never heard of Nebraska, in any of his documents. Of course, I've
been wrong before, and the period between 1817 to 1848, is very gray.
I do have a Peter Cameron in Cairo, Illinois, in 1830, though no
proof it is actually my Peter. This Peter is living next to a Smith
Family, and he did go on to marry a Smith, but that is a very loose
connection!
When did your Robert Franklin go to Nebraska?
Thanks again!
Frank
