CAMERON, Stephen Roy "Sherm"
- 49, Upper Vaughan, Hants Co., formerly of Kitchener, Ont., passed away suddenly,
Thursday, August 13, 2009, in Aberdeen Regional Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Cambridge,
Ont., he was a son of Harry Cameron and the late Joyce (Winkler) Cameron. Sherm worked for
B.F. Goodrich in Kitchener, Ont. for 18 years before moving to Nova Scotia where he became
employed with Dexter's Construction. He loved to cook especially barbeque and he
enjoyed parties. Sherm also liked playing horseshoes and golf and he enjoyed most other
sports. He was a big Washington Red Skins Fan. Besides his father, Stephen is survived by
his wife, the former Paula Smith; sister, Michele (Ross) McClement, Kitchener, Ont;
brother, Blaine (Pru) Cameron, Simcoe, Ont.; special niece, Emily as well as another
niece, Erin and nephew, Jamie; several great-nieces and nephews; many aunts, uncles and
cousins in Ontario, and six sisters-in-law and six brothers-in-law and their families.
Sherm will also be greatly missed by his two doggies, Crystal and Tippy. Arrangements for
cremation have been entrusted to Lohnes - DeMont Funeral Service Ltd., 419 Albert St.,
Windsor (902-798-8317). The family will receive visitors from 2-3 p.m. Monday, August 17,
followed by the funeral service at 3 p.m., all in the Lohnes - DeMont Funeral Service
Chapel, Rev. Gary Manthorne officiating. A reception will follow in the funeral home's
Elmcroft Reception Centre. Interment will take place in Lakeview Cemetery, Upper Vaughan,
following the reception. There will be a celebration of Sherm's life held in Ontario
at a later date. Donations in memory of Sherm may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation
of Nova Scotia, 5161 George St., Halifax, NS, B3J 1M7 or a charity of one's choice.
