Hi, Anna,
I descend from three different Cameron lines, but, in my direct paternal line from Donald
Cameron[clunes]who settled on Lot 21, Concession 4, Finch Township[Cameron School][killed
by falling tree in March 1809]there were only two male descendants in my generation with
the name 'Cameron'==i.e., my brother, Donald Cameron, and, a cousin. Donald who
was killed by the falling tree while building his log cabin, had only one son named Duncan
Cameron, born 1808. There were many descendants from my gtgt grandparents, Donald
Cameron[Cameron School] and his wife, Nancy Cameron, b 1779[a Cameron of Inveruiskavouline
line]through the female lines[two daughters married MacMillans, many descendants of whom
live in and around the villages of Avonmore and Finch, Stormont County, Ontario].
"Samuel" was a name in some Cameron lines, but the name 'Doyle' is not
familiar to me.. .
There has often been confusion by 'researchers' in reference to my'Donald'
and to the 'Donald' of Lot 6, 1 Roxborough Township, wherein the 'Donald'
in Rox. was mistakenly thought to be 'my Donald'...etc. The relationship between
these two Cameron families was through the MacMillan lilnes.
Sorry, this is not of much help to you. Good luck,
Sincerely,
Margaret Cameron
