HAROLD CAMERON
Harold Cameron, 80, of Okmulgee, OK died Saturday, June 24, 2004 in Okmulgee.
He was born in Henryetta, OK to George John and Hattie B. (Jackson) Cameron
on November 19, 1923.
He graduated from Dewar High School in 1941. He then served in the U.S.
Marine Corp during WWII, being stationed in the South Pacific (the WASP). Following
his discharge, he returned to Henryetta and was employed by Eagle Picher for
14 years, then worked for several Non-Destructive Inspection Companies,
retiring from Capital X-ray in Sapulpa, OK after 28 years. Mr. Cameron was a life
time member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Preceding him in death were his
parents, his wife Monti Jo Cameron, five brothers, Lawrence Lott Lewis, Charles
Arlie Lewis, John Leslie Lewis, William D. Cameron and Donald M. Cameron.
Survivors include three daughters, Sunny Carol Russo and husband Joseph of
Saylorsburg, PA, Elaine Withrow of Tulsa, LeAnne and husband Noel Villanueva of
Okmulgee, a stepdaughter Kelli Love and husband Bill of Okmulgee, a twin
sister, Geraldine Stubbs of Henryetta, four grandchildren and eight
gread-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be Wed. June 30, 2004 at 10:00 am at the
McClendon-Winters Chapel in Okmulgee. The U.S. Marine Reserve Unit at the Westlawn
Cemetery
in Henryetta will provide veteran's interment under direction of the
McClendon-Winters Funeral Home. The casket will remain closed.
(This was my father, with whom I had just spent 9 lovely days with on June
1-9th this year. He was healthy, happy and simply sat down on his couch and left
with the angels on a Saturday morning). I had tracked his family for 15 years
on this web site and have had so many friends helping me get off those brick
walls..so now we add his obit to those gone on before us and hopefully keep up
the good work. In my father's words "keep going". Hugs. Sunny
