Duncan Cameron is Dead
Duncan Cameron, 61, a resident of Lehigh and Coalgate for the past 30 years
died at his home in Coalgate last Fri. morning at 8:00 after a short
illlness. Mr. Cameron as born in Dalkeith, Scotland in 1859 and came to this
community when a young man. First locating in Lehigh and later moving to
Coalgate. He worked in the coal mines here for a number of years.
He is survived by his wife, and three children, Mrs. Walter McLauchlan, city
of Coalgate, John Cameron (this is George John Cameron) of Henryetta and
James Cameron, at the present time in Columbia, South Carolina. Funeral
services were conducted at the family homr Monday afternoon at 2:30 by Rev.
Isaac Parkin and interment was in the Lehigh Cemetery.

John S. Cameron Rites set today
Services for John S. Cameron, 79, will be held at 2:30 this afternoon at the
Centrahoma gymnasium. Rev E. W. Foster, pastor of the Centrahoma Baptist
church will conduct. Borh in Belleville, Illinois on May 19, 1882, the
retired coal miner lived in the county since he was three years old. A member
of the Baptist Church, he died in Ada on Monday after a long illness. His
family came to Lehigh in 1885 and he moved to Centrahoma in 1946. Surviving
are his wife, Rossie cameron of Centrahoma, one sister, Mrs. Sarah Gallegar,
one brother G. J. Cameron of Downey, California.

Funeral services for Rossie Gertrude (Brigham) Cameron were helf Tues.
afternoon at the First Baptist Church in Centrahoma, Tom Wacaster officiated.
She was born June 15, 1900 in Ardmore and died Monday at an Ada hospital at
the age of 72. She made her home for many years with friends Mrs. Price and
Myrtle Brown in Centrahoma. Survivors include a niece, Geraldine Stubbs of
Henryetta and a nephew Albert Lankford in Houston, Texas. Slater Funeral
servive was in charge with burial in Centrahoma Cemetery.
NOTE:: John S. Cameron above was son to WPK Cameron and Sarah E. Brumfield
Cameron from Sarah's first marriage to a Jacob Straitenberg in St. Claires
Co, Illinois in 1881. He used both the Straigtenberg and Cameron surnames
throughout his life and died as John S. Cameron. Within this household as an
adopted son was my grandfather, George John Cameron born to Duncan Cameron
and Emeline Gay Cameron in 1888 in Streator, Illinois. Any connections,
