Hello. I don't know if this is my John Cameron or not but thought I would
try. I think my John Cameron was married to a Margaret (?) He came to the
USA in 1775 I think he was born @ 1741. He went to Penn. His daughter was
born in Virg. in 1785 she went to Kentuck with another family and I can't
find out what happen to her parents. I was told that he might have died when
she was young. So if you think that John Cameron might be mine please let me
know. I have also been told that my John Cameron might have had a son named
John Jr.. The middle name to my John is Canaday. I don't if any of this
helps or not. Do you know when John Jr's dad was born or when he died? I
will be waiting to hear from you.
Thanks
Sandy

Subject: [CAMERON-L] Cecil County, MD Camerons
I spent a couple days last week researching the CAMERON family in
Cecil
County, MD. I would appreciate it if anyone associated with this branch
would
contact me. This would include ancestors of John CAMERON (who was
married
to
Margaret MILLIGAN) who settled near what is now Rising Sun, MD. I
visited
the
West Nottingham Presbyterian Church (which is celebrating its 275th
anniversary this year) and the adjacent cemetery as well as the Cecil
County
Historical Society in Elkton, MD. I now have a date for the marriage
of
John
Cameron Jr. and Hannah WILLIAMS (26 August 1800) but did not find
details
on
their children other than a few written notes. John Cameron married
Amelia
BENNETT after the death of Hannah (ca. 1824). I would like to contact
anyone
with additional info on this Cameron branch and would be willing to
share
the
info I have.
