HEIRS TO ESTATE IN OLD MISSISSIPPI
GRASS VALLEY (Nevada Co.), January 29 - Reading almost like a romance
is the story which has developed through a letter from B.A. MAYO, of
Morrilton, Ark., which promises a valuable inheritance to E.M. TAYLOR
and sister, Mrs.
Charles BARKER, in their father's old home state, Mississippi, which
he left in 1851 for California. Mr. Mayo, a boyhood friend of William
TAYLOR, has written here for information relative to the latter,
stating that by the recent death of James and Hugh CAMERON in
Mississippi, a plantation of about 500 acres is left to Taylor or his
heirs.
William Taylor settled in Penn Valley, west of this city, in 1851.
His death occurred here about fourteen years ago. Two of his three
children, E.M. Taylor and Mrs. Barker, survive. The Camerons
mentioned were their uncles, from whom they had not heard for many
years. Mr. Taylor is a leading groceryman of this city, and will at
once take steps to investigate the matter for himself and sister.
