1 Donald Cameron 1695-1748
...2 John Cameron "The Wise" b: 1730 Rannock, Perthshire, Scotland
It is not known if there were other children of Catherine Seaton's union with
John Cameron. She died shortly after the birth of Donald. John "The Wise"
left Scotland on the ship The Pearl in 1773 and headed for America, where they
settled in the Mohawk Valley near Schenectady, New York as a tenant of Sir
William Johnson. In 1777, John joined the Kings Royal Regiment of New York.
They made their way to Glengarry, Canada via Nova Scotia.
