Karol,
Here is the 2nd of 2:
I too am looking for Cameron's from South Carolina. In particular the
family of Frances E Cameron my gg grandmother. I have good reason to
believe that Hugh Cameron could be a brother-in-law to Frances'
grandmother Mary Cameron. The Cameron's that I am chasing were all
born in South Carolina. I am fairly certain they are from the the
Fairfield County area.
Looking for Hugh's parents.
Looking for Mary MNU Cameron's husband.
Looking for Mary's parents.
Looking for Frances E's parents.
Any help that you could provide would be greatly appreciated!
Diane Yarbrough
Dallas, Texas
I have tracked a Hugh Cameron b 1810 NC and Matilda B 1812-1815 NC.
They have about 10 children. All born in Mississippi with the
majority are born in Attala Co.
Hugh's migration:
1810 Born NC
1830 Attalla, MS
1840 Attalla, MS
1850 Rankin, MS
1860 Carter Township, Ashley Co., AR (Carter is present day Hamburg.)
1870 Extra Township, Ashley Co., AR
What is so encouraging about this migration is that it mirrors the
migration of other branches of my family during the same time period.
When Hugh lands in Carter Township in 1860 he is there at the same
time as my gg grandfather James Nowland.
In 1850 there were Nowlands, Irwins, Johnsons and Moores living in
Attala. In 1860 my gg grandmother Ara Irwin Nowland (James' wife) and
her brother John were in Scott County next to Rankin County.
(All of the surnames mentioned above are on my father's side of the family.)
