Hello fellow Camerons
I have an Absalom Cameron in my line
Although I thought it an unique name and a good place to concentrate
and/or use as a cornerstone for my research;
Ive found it is more widely used in our surname than expected.
Although it's much rarer than the oh,so too common John Cameron.
My line so far has been proven as far back as 1740
with my John Cameron b. 1740 d. 1807 in Rowan NC
(anyone looking into this line I'd LOVE to hear from you)
His son was My Absalom who I've well proven b. 1768 d. aft 1830 Rowan NC.
My reason for responding is the poster who is looking for Daniel Cameron in
Columbiana Ohio
In my searches
I've found an Absalom Cameron in that area very early
He can be found in at least one tree on LDS site
I've also seen reference of him returning to his home ( I believe Virginia)
to die.
There is a Rev John Camereon from Very early Va ( I think Brooke Co)
who has as kin (son?) an Absalom.
These are the Grainger Tn Camerons
Who are from John Canaday Cameron (very close statistically to mine)
offsprings
You should contact Mr Ross Cameron
These Camerons do also migrate to MO.
I believe Absalom in also a repeated given name found in Ohio Missouri, Tn,
and Va in this line.
Good Hunting
SeeYa
Thom C.

The Daniel I am talking about was born in 1788 in St. Clair,
Columbiana, Ohio. He was married to Ann Kelly in April 1799. Their
Daughter Margaret married Peter Shirts. Daniel is my 4th great
grandfather. I can't seem to locate a father for him.
