If you are a genealogist studying the Cameron family from North
Carolina, then "A History of the Cameron Family in North Carolina" by
John Burton Cameron of Broadway, North Carolina, published in 1967,
may interest you.
This publication contains two parts:
Part I: Descendants of Allen Cameron and his wife Mary Stewart
Part II: Descendants of Norman Cameron and his wife Rachel Bruce
I took pictures of the entire book and posted them online for your
reference. I hope you find this information useful.

Hello, my group of CAMERONS came to America in 1739 and were know as the
350 souls from Argylleshire, Scotland. They arrived by ships to the Cape
Fear River area, and most of these Highlander settled along the Cape Fear
River in Cumberland CO NC. Has any of them joined your DNA projects?

Subject: [CAMERON] re "Genealogical" DNA

"Genealogical " DNA does not pinpoint the century, or, generation or the
name of the ancestor [that, perhaps, might be held in common between two
people] or the name of locale. It is a rather expensive way to find out if
two people have an ancestor in common. Many Camerons from around the
vicinity of Loch Arkaig in Scotland have an ancestor in common.
Please note the following: "Y DNA testing is only another clue, not an
answer..." ."..in realilty, a 12 marker match means only that there is a
'fairly low' 'probability of a common ancestor within a reasonable number of
generations... We are all related if we go back far enough." ..."a match
really means - it is another clue, not a definite lilnk...."
Also, many errors are listed on the Cameron "DNA" site, i.e. == Donald
Cameron, my gg, was not born in Cornwall, Ontario, in 1777. He was born in
Scotland long before 1773. Also, the wrong desc. are listed.

Hello:
The DNA tests are showing the various groupings of clan-cameron. An organizer is sorting us all out
and it is now looking remarkably promising. If you have not tested, I urge you to do so in the hopes of
finding those to whom we are related and how far we have spread around the world. This is my
personal appeal, because I can already see interesting results. Why not 'Give it a go'?
http://www.clan-cameron.org Scroll to DNA. Take it from there.
