Hello again Christy:
Perhaps you could find some sort of list or directory of the community (civil, church etc where other (parent etc.) names might be given , Iships lists. He obviously had to get there from elsewhere (probably Scotland). Do you know what he did for a living? What religous denomination ? Look for baptism records, church lists. Where did he live and for how long? Were any of them in the military?
Have you searched Family Search. Good idea sometimed to try one of the spouses names. Often someonel else is searching from another point of view , but the infomation will just be the opposite wayI have done that and it has been most helpful.
My problem is that most of my information on Camerons is very early and is involved with military, like Louisbourg, Plains of Abraham and the American Revolution etc. My later dates are from one person and his 10 offspring. I found a lot starting with the 1851 Census and before that a Directory of the Town of
York (now Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He had served after the revolution as a young Drummer Boy, received a land grant at his age of majority and settled on an acreage which had to be cleared etc. So the help I can give you is limited to putting myself in the same position. Property information, sales, taxes etc. are all great places to seek. I have plenty of this sort of looking and it does prove to be quite fruitful though there are many times when one hits a wall. Don't give up, just find a loop hole and get going at it. Good luck.

Hello Christine:
I have seen your message. Have you looked at the Clan Cameron site and
seen the DNA pages? If not check
http.www.clan-cameron.org/dna/results.html participant # 36323. Perhaps
it is yours. Anyway it has the same
first matching gene line as mine which is #29230.
You really need dates to accompany your information. Try telephone 411 #s
in Carolina and see what you come up with. Very often people are there but
they are not looking for family on computer.Try to recall any info you have
heard and also names. Some may have gone there from Canada and migrated
elsewhere in the US. Lots of avenued to explore. Start with you and work
back to come up with a pattern, I wish you success.

Hello:
I have a dilemna and I am hoping some kind person out there will come forward to solve it.
It is in connection with DNA results of Participant # 29230 CLAN-CAMERON on that site
Obviously the person who entered the main ancestor on this list must have proof of his work. Up to recent time, we have been searching for a "James' (following the Scottish naming pattern). On this list now it is Donald.
It would assist in a huge way, if that person presumably from Chicago, would give pertinent
information for that particular name Donald. I have emailed Ms. Blair who oversees the program but I have not had a reply. I have not taken part personally , but I identify with that particular family as being related to my line through common ancestor CHARLES CAMERON, b 1783 Inverness-shire, Scotland. For some time now I have been searching for a 'JAMES'and if this present information can be justified, it sure would save a lot of time and effort !!
I am not asking for current personal information but something from centuries ago. There are others also searching for this link. Actually it is part of the chain to the Clan Lochiel from
which the Chiefs have come. So it would be a beautiful act to free the place and date of supposed information. Please, will you come forward anonymously if you must, but step out and let us know ? I have kin who could take the swab test but not until I know this name. I have just completed the history on this CAMERON Family from Charles b 1783 until present and am happy to share it with anyone who qualifies as being part of it. So far we have been in Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, B.C. Oregon, Ohio, California , Indiana, and i know other branches have been spread around. If you know this requested information, it would certainly please this 85year old no end!!! Thank you.

Greetings, as per below a couple of updates, one from Kenneth Taylor of Cameron Cashmere Ltd. Thanks Kenneth, always nice to hear from you. I do not know Gayle nor what Canadian Ontario newsletter you write of, regardless, info as per below. Another snippet of an update regarding the tale of my "Cock 'OF The North"..you might remember the photo I sent out last week for information on such. Cheers, Scott

Dear Scott, Thank you for your emails which I always enjoy. Have you looked at www.cameroncashmere.com recently ?
You will see that I have brought down the price of the scarves recently to $43.16 (Canadian) or $35.21 for 2 or more. Customers wishing to buy 2 or more at this very very low price can email the site giving their details as the website cannot discount automatically to 2 or more price. The throws/blankets are also reduced as are the stoles and mini kilts. Can you email your contacts letting them know ? Look forward to hearing from you. By the way I am in almost daily contact with Gayle Lanuauwho may has started to write for the Canadian Ontario newsletter. She is helping to sell my scarves in her area.
Her email addresses are GLunau(a)yak.ca and moragc(a)look.ca

...and now for the rest of the story...re: "Cock 'O The North"...
anyways, turns out my friend's aunt was the housemaid for sir william mulock who had a huge home on jarvis street in toronto. so, aunt "x" poustie (surname) gets all kinds of stuff from william who died when willma was young. willma used to play in mulock's mansion going in through the servant's quarters. the aunt got the stuff from mulock who kept some and gave the rest to her sister (willma's mom). this piece must go back to 1930 perphaps earlier. anyways the "cock 'o guelph" has it now. i told willma that the estate to mulock's fortunes are probably sealed in the back of the piece i now own. too bad willma : ) i told her. however, i still want to find out more pertaining to what the title pertains too, where in scotland, etc.

Hi Scott, Thanks. Didn't look up the sites yet re: Mulock. Will tonight. Poustie was my family name (my mom's and old
auntie). They were all OLD. My mom and dad were quite a bit older when I was born. At some point I should have shown you the pictures from Scotland that I have (always in my house growing up) from Lady and Lord "this and that" in Scotland and well marked from them. Sir William must have had some connection to Scotland. When we get settled I will send a copy of Sr. William Mulock's homes that were always in my house - dated 1939 etc. The one is marked Aurora "The Farm". I know most of my sisters got to go there when my aunt was opening this house for the "Season". Plus his place in
Fenelon Falls - they even had pools at this place, quite unusual for those times. My old auntie (born 1888 - all born in Ayr, Ayrshire. My mom was born in 1896 and she was 7 when her dad died, 9 when the mother died) and Aunt Isabella raised one younger than my mom and one older than my mom. Quite remarkable. I am going to do a write up on her for my family. She raised my mom and her two other sisters from age 14 and was a servant in Scotland then moved to Toronto re: this job
as housekeeper over all the servants at Sir Williams. We knew them all the butler, gardener, the chauffeur, the parlor maids etc. Cheers, Willma
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
nb - i used to live up near fenelon falls re: lindsay, ontario, but don't remember mulock's estate. i will have to check it out sometime. cheers, scott
I'm trying to hit as many bases as I can for my wifes christmas present
