My g grandmother was Martha "Mattie" Cameron from Franklin Co., AL. I have been told she was a native American. The only native Americans I find with last name Cameron are Cherokee: Andrew Cameron, John Cameron, Olce Cameron. These three people are in the same family, perhaps father and 2 children. Anyone having information about them- please contact me. Thanks

My interest is in Louis Cameron born Kirkmichael, Banffshire in 1849 to John Cameron (born Cromdale) and Margaret Fraser (born Kirkmichael).
Louis was a saddler and apperar on the 1881 census in Cromdale living with his parents aged 32.
I know he had a son to Jessie Grant but they never married. John is my Great Grandfather and was born 1872 in Cromdale.
John's son James Russell Cameron was my Grandfather born 1912 in Leith near Edinburgh.

The name of my grandfather and my Great grandfather was Allen J Cameron. What I heard is when my greatgrandfather came to canada, he was very young and he came with his family. They embarked in Aberdeen and came to canada. My great grandfather married Mercedes Poulin and lived in Gaspésie where they had a son they named Allen J like his father. The year of the birth seems to correspond...

I have Tom CAMERON AL Death Certificate that states he died June 1919 in
Yantley,
Choctaw County, Alabama. He was 55 years old and 7 months. He is buried
in Mount Zion Cemetery in Cuba, Sumter County, Alabama. Therefore when I
did the math, Tom was born in November 1864, he would have been 56 in a
matter of months. Now I have a concern or question, since he was born
1864, would he be in the 1870 Census with parents? or was he a slave, I
am asking because their are no parents listed (see) that I can tell. If
so, that would explain why I cant find no parents and siblings that
belong to Tom CAMERON.

Looking again, so forgive if I asked already, for an early recording of
TOM CAMERON in Alabama.
He would be African American that married Mary. I found him in 1900. He
died either in 1910
or 1920, but he was 51 yrs old,I have his tombstone picture. I still
would like to know who his mother
was and if she had more children.
