Any idea what state or dates you're looking for? My husband is George the 4th, and I believe he had an uncle named Robert who fought in one of the world wars. They were from Ohio.

I got the name off of my Mother's birth certificate...it listed Hazel Cameron Zelter as the mother of Barbara Jean Kaiser. So there wasn't any other info about Hazel other than there were 4 existing siblings to my Mother, and in 1930, this birth was in Hackensack, NJ....and Hazel listed NJ as her birth place. Yours is the only response I've had about Zelter name. If you come accross anything else, please let me know. Thanks!

Have you found any more on this family? My greatgrandmother was Mary ZELTER from Bayonne, NJ. She immigrated to this country in 1888 and married Samuel HAAS. Her father's name was Andrew Zelter. On the baptismal certificate of one of her daughters, the witnesses were listed as Andreas and Maria Zelter, don't know if this would be a brother and his wife or more likely her parents. I don't have any info on any of her siblings or any more about her parents. Don't know where in NJ your Hazel Cameron was from but given the ages seems possible she could have been a niece of Mary Zelter Haas. On some forms my grandmother's name is given as Zolder instead of Zelter.
