I'm looking for information on William J. Cameron, my father's grandfather.
He was an executive with the Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan. Born
approximately in 1880 in Canada, died around 1950.
Any help or leads would be greatly appreciated!

All that I know about my 2nd great-grandfather, John Cameron is his name, and that he married Ann Marshall. I'm quite sure that they were from Scotland. At least most of their descendants are. PLEASE , if anyone has any information contact me. I will gladly exchange look-ups in the Census Index Books for information.

Hello list,
I have not posted for a while now. Life seems to have been on the very busy
side for the past several months. I and my family did get away for a great
road trip, however.
July 3rd we set out from Spokane on our way eventually to Minneapolis. We
saw about every site that Montana, South and North Dakota, Wyoming and
Minnesota had put in our paths.
I had the extreme pleasure to introduce my wife and kids to some of the
Cameron relatives I have come to know in the last couple years.
We stopped first to meet for the first time, Richard, Fred and Rose Cameron
and families. They are my ggrandfather Fred Cameron's, (1st cousin) Frank
Camerons children. We all had a wonderful time getting to know one another.
After an 8 hour shopping spree by my girls at the Mall of America, we left to
go north to Wadena where we met the entire families from the Daniel Cameron
family. Daniel (b. 1847) was my John J. Cameron's (b. 1844) 1st cousin.
Daniel's grandchildren, ggrandchildren and gggrandchildren were there. We
enjoyed a meal with all of them (about 30 or so..) Susie Cameron Nundahl and
her husband Scott own a Restaurant in Verndale, MN. and were having a party
for her daughter who is going into the Air Force.
It is a wonderful thing to be able to meet some of the current history in the
midst of seeking our past histories.
I learned something on this trip as well. In Aldrich, where John J. Cameron
(whom was Catholic) homesteaded in 1876, there is a little Catholic Church
called the "Mother of Sorrows Church." It is about 1/4 mile from John J's
farm. I learned that it was built in 1876, the same year that he
homesteaded.
It is exciting to believe that John may have had a hand in building this
church. My family and I received a very thorough tour of this small church
while we were there.
It is no longer an active church, it was purchased by Don Cameron (grandson
to Daniel Cameron). They have one service held there every year in Aug. It
is the oldest building still standing in Wadena County.
There is a cemetery filled with Cameron's there. I am starting to research
as much history as I can find through the Catholic Diocese about this church
(there are no records locally).
I hope that all is well with all of you Cameron cousins out there. I will
keep you updated as I find records and such of other Cameron's from this
area.

Dear All:
Now's your chance!!
For those who have been waiting for the
opportunity to administer this list. I've
decided to retire from public life and enjoy
my grandchildren and do some traveling
with my wife.
Here are some guidelines for winning the
List Admin title.
A: Be Creative in your letter. Humor sells.
B: Decision in one week ( next sat July 20 at 5pm PDT)
C: Mention if you have any special qualities ( manage the
message boards), won genealogy awards etc etc
D: I will take a look at the archives to see what
posting have been made. So if you've been
a flamer then I would forget applying. If you've
posted several hundred messages on the surname
then you're probably the winner.
E: Attempts to bribe ( chocolate, lattes, pies etc)
are turned over to Piglet for decision on what
the related punishment will be.
F: Private Email only. Do not post to the list.
Posting to the list will be an automatically
disqualifier.
Best Regards
John A Hansen

I have a picture from my grandfathers effects that is of Don Cameron and his wife Eva Watts. I am willing to give the photograph to anyone who is related to these people. In the 1930's they lived in Flushing, New York. Eva was my grandfather's brother's widow. She had a child named James Milton Watts who died in Flushing in 1935. If anyone is interested in having the picture, let me know.

I have a woman in my line by the name of Helleac or Helen or Helena (not sure is was either misprinted on the census or not legiable) Strachan. Her family heritage goes back to Aberdeen Scotland. She married a Wallis or Wallas Cameron in Ontario.
They had Judson, Nellie, and Morley as children by 1881.
If anything rings a bell let me know.

Dear Cameron's and list
My Cameron's came from Canada in 1811 to Clermont, Ohio. They were Robert
and his wife Elizabeth Viller or De Viller.
the child they brought with them was 1 year old, Robert Adolphus. Robert
Adolphus naturalization papers say he was a citizen of Great Britain and
Ireland. I would like to find the birth place, year of birth and marriage
dates for his parents. I would also like a marriage date for Robert
Adolphus and his wife Mary E. Bone around 1833. They may have been
Catholic.not sure of this.
Anyone having this information would be certainly a cousin.
Thank you in advance
Jean Fancy

My William Archilbald CAMERON was born in Ohio, his children were all born in Beliot, WI and then he moved to Rockford, IL where he died but since he was known to have a lot of women in his life I am not sure if those are the only places he lived. At one time he divorced his wife Grace Bratley who was my grandmother and I don't know where he moved on from there.
