Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Congratulations on the bouncing baby boy!!!!

The book was published in Toronto in 1994, 3 volumes readable in Family
History Library at Salt Lake City but not yet on microfilm. There are said
to be about 500,000 names all indexed.
I feel CERTAIN that much of the same Index is in Broderbund CD #118
CANADIAN GENEALOGY INDEX 1600S- 1900S, 2 million entries claimed.

Peg, give us the specific name and code numbers for your interest. In each
of the Broderbund hits the original book Page No and Book Title are on
screen. NS39 is probably a publication title named but not informed to you,
and 1360 is the page number in that book.
A very kind lady sent me that Broderbund CD!! I think she too, was named

Hello all,
As you may have noticed, I have taken a noticeable backseat to others
actively posting on this list. Well, the truth was I WAS pregnant and trying
to maintain a sane home life with my husband and 4 year old. I am proud to
announce the birth of Ryan Cameron Kirkpatrick, born September 16, 2001.
*8lbs, 8ozs; 21 inches long.
(for those on the metric system, how many Kgs is that?) He seems to be a
fine healthy boy, so far.
Since things seem to be very much in control on this list, (as opposed to
others I sub to) I will be checking mail at least every other day. Thanks
for your support!

I just wanted to drop a line to everyone and let you all know the recent
Ceremonies held for Stephen and Harrison Lyons members of the 1st Minnesota
Volunteers Co. A., went very well.
I wanted to say to those who participated. THANK YOU!
I feel that History was served and that I was blessed to have met so many
wonderful people in the process.
We had both regional American Legions attend as well as the Mayor of Wayzata
at Stephen's (Thank you Barry!).
We also had members of the 1st Minnesota Volunteers Co. A reenactors at both
locations. They were an absolute joy and pleasure to to have met and shared
this time with. Huzzah! to you guys.
I also met and had the pleasure to spend a couple of days with, several new
Lyons cosins! They are wonderful people!
While there, Mr. Charles Rieland took me and some of my new found Lyons
cousins on a tour of a couple of Cemeteries. We visited the graves of my
gggrandmother Millie (Lyons) Cameron, the Cemetery of John J. Cameron (grave
unmarked), the graves of Mary (Lyons) Maxfield, Phoebe (Lyons) Gross, Adeline
(Lyons) Gross, as well as other Lyons cousins.
I was also blessed to have recieved this obit for Alexander H. Lyons from Mr.
Rieland while there. I am proud to offer the following:
Delano Eagle 9/8/1898
Mr. Alexander Lyons, father of Mrs. L.M. Maxfield, died at the home of the
latter on Monday afternoon last about 5:30. The following sketch was kindly
furnished for publication by the family;
Alexander Lyons was born in Saratoga, Co. N.Y. in 1806, where he lived for a
number of years, when he moved to Pennsylvania, in which state he resided for
7 years. Mr. Lyons came to Minnesota in 1855, where he lived most of the
time on the frontier. He was the father of 9 children (I have 10 on a census
from PA). eight of whom are now living- 4 sons and 4 daughters. His 4 boys
and 4 sons in law were all in the Civil War, in which 3 sons were wounded.
Mr Lyons himself applied for enlistment but was not accepted. His Grandson,
John Coffin is serving at present in the volunteer army. He was a true
patriot and dearly loved his country. He was a great reader of the Bible and
took that book for his guide in faith. Had he lived untill Nov. 22nd he
would have been 92 years of age. He has been paitently waiting for some time
for the Lord to take him. He died of old age, suffering very little pain.
Blessed be his memory. The funeral sevrices were held at the M.E. Church
Tuesday, the Rev. Farber officiating. The body was interred in the Cemetery
south of town.
I will be looking for Lyons in Saratoga, N.Y. now.
Thank you to everybody!
Dean Cameron

them! or *Who* should i say

My Emighs (Kingston) were in Saratoga too...some phrases in my family
story...Battle of Saratoga...brought from Saratoga in 1778, to
Ernesttown, Ontario (Bay of Quinte). They went from Saratoga up the St.
Lawrence River "in this group settled the Ameys (Emigh) adn the Stovers,
and other related families from Saratoga...400 had been housed in the
Fort at Saratoga. etc, etc. Well, won't bore you with my story, don't
know if it is of interest to you...but it is about battles, etc. Jessup,
Bergoyne, Fort Ticonderoga... earlier history. I have the names of about
250? descendents, can't find at moment, i will look for Lyons for fun!
*S* who knows...i am always looking for connections...haha..do you have
any Cameron rellies in Seattle?

This was a fwd from my sister Peggy to let us all know cousin Bruce was OK. She talked to him on the phone on Thursday .....he was still pretty shaken and hadn't been back to work as yet.(Bruce is from the Strachan-side)
There are going to be a pile of stories about the "lucky" ones .....missed appointments.....forgot something ...and had to go back to their hotel for a camera. The City had a 'thousand' stories before.........and now it has a thousand more.
But NEVER ........let us forget those not so lucky..........who fell in harms way. The airline passengers and crew.......those in the Pentagon.....and those who gave of themselves trying to save others.
This was not just an American Tragedy........THIS ....was a Tragedy for ALL !
I wear my "I Love N.Y." T-shirt with pride !

Hello Everyone,
I just wanted to share with you that the planned Ceremonies for Stephen and
Harrison Lyons former members of the 1st Minnesota Volunteers Co. A during
the Civil War are going on as planned. I am humbled by the fact that
Stephen's 82 year old ggranddaughter drove from Medford, Oregon to be here in
Minnesota.
I have visited the graves of Mary Lyons Maxfield, Stephen Lyons, Permelia
Lyons Cameron (my ggrandma), Adeline Lyons Gross, Pheobe Lyons Gross (sisters
married brothers), and the Cemetery of John J. Cameron (his grave is unmarked
and not yet located (he is STILL hiding from me!). I also visited Lakewood
Cemetery in Minneapolis and visited the grave of John F. Cameron brother of
my GGrandfather Fred Cameron. I have no info on him yet other than it says
"Father" on his stone. I will hope that some of his line is still around and
that I stand a chance of finding them.
Well gotta go,
Take care,
Dean Cameron

I have received the following from RootsWeb:
Because of the catastrophe that happened in the United States Tuesday,
11 Sept., 2001, MyFamily.com (RootsWeb.com and Ancestry.com) has created
a special Message Board for those who wish to express or share
condolences, sorrow, prayers, and thoughts for the victims, their
families and friends.
However, this is not a board for discussion on how the U.S. should
resolve this issue or about how the search for those responsible is
going.
The URL for the board is

In the light of what has happened I think we have all used an amazing amount of
restraint in our messages to each other. We have embraced all of those who died
on our soil as Americans with no regard to race, color or nationality.
God bless America!

Thank from the bottom of our hearts to our Canadian brothers, sisters and
cousins for all your concern and all your help. Our hearts are sore and
painful now, but there is no doubt here that we will rise again and when we
do and it will be soon those responsible will without question be surgically
removed from the earth so they can do no further harm to innocent people.

I am pleased to say that with the wonderful help of a woman named Betty, We
have found John F. Cameron, son of John J. and Permelia Cameron.
He was born in 1879 (this I knew). He died on May 21st 1940 in Minneapolis
at the age of 61. He is buried in Lakewood Cemetery (he worked there while a
young man).
I will now try real hard to find his descendents. Cameron cousins yahoo!
His death cert is on the way to me in the next couple of weeks (or less I
hope).
Now if I could just document the other way back to Scotland ;o}

This was given to me in case they were related to my Cameron's, and
unfortunately they are not. This is all the info that was given to me and I
am typing (sic) just as it is.
Deed Book "M" Washington Co., MS
P 2:21 Oct. 1843-Deed-Littleton Munday of Frankl. Co., MS., to his daughter,
"for love and affection", Angeline M. CAMERON, wife of John C. CAMERON of
Wash., Co., MS., land on which the CAMERON'S now reside (located in Sec. 9,
Twp. 17, R8W + land in another sec., same Twp., range., in all 404 + ac.
Should Angeline survive her father, she is not to inherit any additional
property from his est., but is to have this land evaluated and then if she is
due more from the other heirs' shares, she shall have it. Document signed by
Littleton Munday and his wife Lucinda.
Hope this helps someone,
