I am trying to climb the old "brick wall" once again, and through maybe some new listers might know something about my William.
All I know about William is that he died abt. 1811 in Christian Co. Kentucky and was married to a Nancy (last name unknown). After William's death Nancy married William Randolph whose first wife was Ann Banks. According to family legend, William's father was also a William who was one of 4 brothers who came to America from Scotland, William, John, Ewen and Donald. about 1745. It is told that they came to NC, and that William later went to SC. He was supposed to have 10 children, 5 boys and 5 girls. It has also been told that one of the Williams was a minister.
As family stories sometimes are, there is probably only a word or two that is accurate. I do believe that one of the Williams was a preacher. Does anyone know of a William that was a circuit riding preacher in either NC or Sc, or TN. around the time that would fit either of my Williams. Just thought I would give it a try again.
Thanks.
Sue
