I've still hit a giant, and I mean giant brick wall. I went to Rootsweb,
Ancestory.com, and the site from the LDS. All I get is Mrs. Peter Cameron.
If any of you have other sites than the ones I have tried, please let me
know. I don't know where else to look right now.
Thank you for your help.

I have a lot on Donald's descendants, but not much in the way of dates/places
for Donald. My info is from "Mabou Pioneers", Vol.1. Are you using this as a
reference? If so, you have all that I have.
We will be in Port Hood at the end of the month. I'll check with the local
Camerons, of which there are many, to see if any of them can add anything.

Hi A Batten
I apologize for not being specific in regards to my Camerons . It seems
the
majority of people on this list are from the U.S.A. My Camerons are from
Cape Breton Nova Scotia , see below mail....Should I continue to post at
this list do you think ? Any suggestions ?

I think it does help to keep posting. I think many of us will find we
are connected. Even tho in different countries, or different parts of
the country.
My Camerons were in USA (different parts) AND Canada. Alec Cameron,
Bundanoon, New South Wales, Australia, v. experienced genealogist who
has researched Camerons for more than 30 yrs, with the help of my
Cameron ancestor recordings, found my grandmother "Jessie" Cameron's
gUncle in a church in the heart of downtown Sydney, Australia, 1871-
1893, after he left the Maritime Provinces, via New Zealand. You never
know where they turn up.
And don't quit, Camerons!
Thanks all for sharing,

He may have been one of many, it's a common name, the location is a bit
vague, and clerks not the owners of names, seemed to decide what to put
in official records. So I like to see other data provided, like
occupations, names of spouse, children, siblings. Otherwise you may be
given a bum steer.
Adopting the wrong ancestor is a too-common error.
I'll call you direct after I browse a wee bit. But the most vital doc
you need, may have been entered as simply JOHN CAMERON. My ggg grandpa
had that handle!

Ontario). Can anyone help me with this? Thanks, Dean Cameron

An idea of a range of dates for this Donald would be of great help. Even if
it has to be a guess. Without some clue, it would be nearly impossible to
attempt to connect with you.
I have a Donald or Daniel, born c1780, found in NC and then to TN .

Dear Cuzzins: following are CAMERONs buried in the NSH Nat. Cmty. in

I have just recieved more info. on the elusive John J. Cameron. I am closing
in on him fast. Minnesota Rootsweb and a wonderfull lady named Shirley Solom
found Adeline (Addie) Cameron's birth cert in Duluth. It reads:
Female Cameron, born 7/30/1874 to John Cameron b. 5/1/1845 and Millie Cameron
b. 8/16/1848 John was born in Canada. I am assuming he was born in Ontario.
Does anyone have access to records that would match the birthdate of May 1
1845?
I am very anxious to find John's birth records and his parents and lineage.
Thank you, Dean Cameron
Alec,
Thanks for going through my email and picking out specific items to point
out. I have anwered the specific ones that you have pointed out.
> Elizabeth Cameron (Cameron is her
> married name), age 40 from South Carolina. She appears as Head of Household
> in the 1850 Perry County, Mississippi Census. Listed with her are:
> Abijah/Alijah age 22 born in MS, a farmer,
> Sarah age 18, born in MS,
> Franklin age 13, born in MS,
> Erasmus age 7 born in MS.
I notice in a reference to FTMaker CD FA318 (which I <do not> have) that
there was an ERASMUS R. CAMERON recorded in the AL Census of 1860.
On This Eramus, I will have to go and actually search the census, but I did
find him on Ancestry.com. The difference is that this Erasmus was born in
1853 according to Ancestry.Com, and according to the MS 1850 Census, the one
I am looking for would have been born in 1843.
<Nothing after 1820? Might this be your man:> I really believe that this is
my man, I just cannot confirm it. If I could just find some little something.
<Levander Cameron, 1850 Census, MS, Hancock Co, Gainesville, page 77.>
This Levander Cameron is Jesse's Cameron's son. I have checked records on
him and so far, nothing that will confirm if the elder Levander is his
grandfather and Jesse's father.
Alec, if I wanted to check and see if there was a Levander Cameron born
between 1770-1780 in Scotland, how would I go about doing that?

HI Alec and Listers,
This is the site for LDS ( Latter Day Saints) that
some of you may not know about.
One caution, the material is from submitters, and
not the research of church members.

HI There,
This post is in reference to Alec, who mentioned
the other day that American Records are hard to find, and
I would like to offer to him and others from abroad, that
there is extensive information available on the Internet,
which also is more accurate than the CD's you buy.
Go to Rootsweb's homepage, and search the menu.
One site in particular is USGENWEB.
Jackie Mc
Hey Folks,
I'm not betraying trust of my dear friend, but thought
it would be interesting for all of you.

Way to go Dean,
Your a good example of endurance, and strong
will, and I wish you well. We all rejoice with you, and
now, relax, smoke a cigar, shoot some fireworks, and
enjoy your 4th of July.
Also, if Alana and the group will endure me, I'll
add this American History Fact.

Hi again Cameron lineage line. In response to Alana's query as to the
stature of Camerons I would add my Cameron of Clunes Line.
Family history tells us that John (1725-1824) son of Donald of
Clunes(Old Cluny) was so short he wore cork insoles to increase his height,
but to no avail. As a possible result of his being "vertically challenged",
he was exempted from the battles of '45 and '46 at which he lost a brother
(Allen).
I have pictures going back to my Great-Grandfather,John Charles, and he
was VERY short of stature! and his son Arthur Joesph I remember also as
short. A.J. married up with a lady,Jane Dickson Blyth, and the men of her
family were all TALL.
My Dad, Robert Laird, was about 5' 6" but his brothers were tall and
slim. I myself am only
5' 9" tall. My son Brad is 5' 10" but son Kevin is 6' 5".(hunts geese with
a flyswatter)
Brad's son Brendan will also be tall the way he is stretching out now.
Any other "short" Camerons out there................ you may be of John
of Clunes!
