Dean,
Somewhere, somehow, someway, it has to be
found in death or land records. Check Iowa and
Wisconsin, if their land was foreclosed, they would
not have been able to travel far without resource,
or other family to go to.
Then again, they may have gone back to Canada.
Just trying,

Thanks Eddie,
None of the laborers, or boarders, names ring any
bells here, but I still think that proximity plays a part of
Mine, yours, and PJ and Mary's bunch.
The 3 sets of Cameron's I have here in Madison Co.,
AL, and Jackson Co., would only have been about 40 miles
from Giles (Pulaski) Co., TN.
Also, some names are common, as the Scots and Irish
had a habit of that.
Food for thought,

Looking for information about a Robert Cameron, born about 1720 in
Invershire. Robert was in Connecticut by the time his son, Robert, Jr.,
was born around 1750. Robert, Jr. married Sarah Tiffin and had a son
named Joseph in 1778 in Pennsylvania.
Anyone else connected to this line? I have other Camerons from Joseph
on down, too.

Hello Friends! I joined this list hoping to find a Cameron connection to my
Texas Kirtleys. My Kirtleys were Scottish and settled in Milam County, TX, in
a town called Cameron. I found it was named for one of the early settlers and
since my Kirtleys are Scottish also, I thought perhaps they migrated together
or were even related. In the last few months, I've made some wonderful
Kirtley finds and I now have my Kirtleys traced back to the first one who
came to America. I have not found a Cameron relation. But I have found in
another line I was looking at, this lady with the following message she sent
me some time back. I have zero interest in profiting from her sale, but I
thought someone on the list might be interested in her book. If so, email me
privately and I will you her email or URL address. Take care, Carolyn Here
is her message:
I decided to try this auction thing because I found a beautiful soft leather
book on the Camerons of Waco and Fort Worth - with color pictures and black
and white photos and every page had elaborate borders. Published back in
1925. And more than a year later it was still sitting on a shelf. That was
heartbreaking. Except I paid way too much for it and will probably never
find a home for that one. Too bad I have no Cameron lineage!
I am still looking for information on my elusive Cameron's.
John J. Cameron b. 1844 (Canada)
m. Permelia Lyons b. 1849
Children:
Addie Cameron b. 7/30/1874
Amos (Fred) Cameron b. 3/7/1877
Frank C. Cameron b. 1879
Elvie Cameron b.??
They all lived in MN. at least until 1888 when the Farm was foreclosed upon.
I lose the family after that. John's parents were born in Scotland. John
may be the son of John Cameron and Flora McDonnell of Kenyon. I have census
information provided by Bob Cameron of Cold Lake that lists a John of the
right age but I have no connection or proof. Any help is appreciated, Dean

Hi List Members,
Once again I will submit my elusive ancestor in hopes that someone new
has joined our list and will recognize the name or a current member
will have rec'd new information linking them to me.
Arzula Cameron, birth date unknown but abt 1850-1860. My mother once
told me she thought her grandparents came from Pa. but she wasn't sure.
She was orphaned at a very young age. What I do know is that Arzula
married Joseph Lynn or possibly Joseph Lane. I know the family was from
Evansville, IN in 1880 because my grandmother was born there. Joseph
and Arzula had 10 children according to the Evansville census of 1900.
It also shows they had 7 other children but only 3 are listed. Emma,
William Perry and Howard Lane. My mother always said the family name
was Lynn and that her 2 uncles were Homer and Perry. But I figure this
is a pretty good match. My grandmother moved to Parma or Risco MO where
my grandmother gave birth to my mother. I found the maiden name of my
great grandmother Arzula Cameron from the death certificate of my
grandmother. I have absolutely nothing else to go on with my Cameron.
No parents nor siblings or places or dates. I feel like a shot in the
dark, but I don't give up hope.
Anything new from anyone?
Kindest regards,
Peggy
Searching for a William Cameron, who supposedly came from Scotland to America around 1745 with brothers, John, Ewen and Donald. They settled near the Cape Fear River in NC. (This is according to family lore, I have no proof at all).
William Cameron, after the Rev. war took his family of 5 sons and 5 daughters and moved to Abbeyville, South Carolina. According to family legend he was an Episcopalian preacher and was killed during a circuit ride in his buggy. Known son. William Jr., married Nancy (maiden name unknown) and spenc several years in Tennessee before settling in Christian County, (now Trigg) Kentucky. William and Nancy had the following children: John b.abt. 1805, Jessie, Nancy, Margaret, Daniel, Mary.
William Cameron, Jr., died abt. 1811 and in 1817 Nancy married William Randolph, whose first wife was Ann Banks.
Can anyone help me with my William Cameron Sr.?

Here are my Cameron's that I'm researching in Scotland. Mary Cameron born
abt 1850 in Invernesshire, Abernethy parish. She died in 1940 in Kirkwall,
Orkney Islands. Her parents were John Cameron and Hellen Taylor. Mary
married John Scott in 1887. They had the following children, John Cameron b.
1879, James b. 1881, Mary E. b. 1882, Alfred b. 1883 (my grandfather),
Barbara Ann b. 1889 and Maud b. 1890-d.1891. Anyone have a connection?

HI There,
I have a Susan A. Cameron, b. 1837, Alabama, on
the 1850 census, but oral history has her born in South
Carolina, could this be a match to yours listed?

Hello Alec
We have corresponded before! OK, perhaps some of my forebears might have
emigrated although not my direct line. Would it be possible to tell me
more about those Cameron genealogies you mentioned. I have gathered
quite a lot of info re Camerons in Dull and might be able to help any
other researchers

This entire group of Camerons started in Fairfield, S. Carolina, then moved
to Troupe Co., Georgia, from there my group headed west to Dangerfield ,
Texas . There was a group that went to Arkansas, TN and ILL.
Hope this has helped...I do have more on the cousins and more recent portions
of the family if any one is interested.

Still looking for descendants of this family, they were in Dallas County
1870-80 census, apparently moved to Tarrant County in the "Cain" area,
sometime in 1890s.
I have a great deal of information and will share on the McBee Family,
I know nothing more on the Camerons.
Appreciate any help I can get on this family.

I am still trying to find out what happened to the Catherine Cameron born
1816 Lebanon Co, PA to John and Sarah Cameron (both born England/Scotland?/
Germany?). Her brothers Joseph, born 1810, Lebanon Co, and Daniel, born
1812 Lebanon Co., both were in Juniata Co PA at some point, leaving there
for Knox Co Ohio in the mid 1830's. Daniel Cameron (born 1812) married
Mary Grubaugh in Ohio, and her family was in Juniata in the early 1830's,
and Joseph Cameron married Sally Hinds (name also reported as Pomeroy) in PA.
If you happen to run across any of those names in your Pennsylvania
records, I would be grateful for any help. Joseph and Daniel Cameron and
their families followed the National Road to end up in Fayette Co, Illinois.
Another name associated with this family may be Levi Cameron. There are two
Levi Camerons on the Lebanon Co, Pa 1810 census, and it is possible that
they are father and son, and John may be another son.

Hello All!
Glad to see some activity on the list again. Here is my re-post of my
Cameron line in the for what it is worth category, we have really h it a
brick wall on ours.
Our first record on our Camerons, is when our George Cameron, b in Tenn,
parents unknown in abt. 1818 is wed to Sarah Jones, daughter of Lewis Jones
in Levingston, Ky in 1839. George is still in Levingston, Ky in the 1840
Census, the next record we have of him is in Randolph County, Ark, in the
1850 Census. He has a son Eli, listed as 7 years old, born in Ky in the
household, also my great grandfather Henry, a new baby born in 1850, which is
correct for my Henry, but he also has Susan Cameron and Sarah Jones Cameron
is not listed. They are still there in the 1860 Census, Henry is 10 years
old, which is correct, Eli is 17, also correct, they also have William and
Elizabeth now. They show up again in 1870 in Lawerence County, Ark, Eli is
not with the family, but we have records showing that Eli enlisted in the
Confederacy in Lawerence County and the last Muster Roll he shows up on is in
1864, which explains why he is not there. My Henry has just married Eliza
Jane Massey in 1870, this is the last time we see George W. Cameron, it is
not known what happend to him, the family moved to Madison County, Ark, we
know that Susan was still alive in Madison County, Ark in 1900, in the house
with her was her grandson, William abt. 12 years old, son of her son William
and her daughter in law Tennessee Cameron, Tennessee and Susan are both
listed as widows, so we know that William and George Cameron are both dead at
that time. My Henry was in Okla in the 1900 census. Our brick wall is what
happend to George, when did he die and where is he buried? What happend to
William and Elizabeth, where are they? Any help would be greatly
appreciated. Incidentally we have not found where or when Susan died and is
buried?
Thanks,
Eddie Mills Dugger
Hello all,
I am distantly related to Lorna (WSchind121(a)aol.com). We are actively
researching Camerons who emigrated from Marion Co, SC to Marion Co, MS in the
1820-1830 time period. I believe Lorna has reached a 'brick wall' with
Levander Cameron, first mentioned in the Pee Dee River area of South Carolina
@ 1800. We believe from records that Levander was an adult at that time,
since he drops off the census during the move in 1820-1830. Lorna does
deserve all the credit here - she has been tirelessly pursuing this for quite
some time.
Any help from any direction would really be appreciated. I think a
breakthrough here is needed !!
