Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
These names are somewhat alphabetically done, but if you are looking for a
name, example: Hugh, check all the H's because they are out of sequence that
way.

Bette - searching a family of brothers from Scotland, most of whom we have
found c1780-90 in NC. Is there any possibility that your James could have
also gone to NC? Brothers are (all not proven as yet) Daniel, John,
Allen, Alexander and maybe James.

My James CAMERON was a freeman 1770 & 1771 in Chester Co. Pa. then moved to

anyone have this line? Bette >>
Thank you, Dean - a relief.

Sue, got the same thing yesterday on my posting re: John Cameron. This is
indeed strange, as I know the post did come through the list. Apparently
nothing has been lost, but this does need to be looked into.

I haven't been following your posts, and when we can't see the bounces
we cannot really diagnose!
But the most common cause of failure, is when Listers prepare a doc.
using a word processor then try to send it to a Rootsweb List. It just
won't work, if you send a Word, Works, Word Perfect, Ami Pro etc etc etc
attachment. You may do that as email to a friend, but the robots that
run Lists are programmed to sift out the non- conforming messages. There
are Rules.
EVERYTHING that goes to a List should be "saved as" a TEXT file and
either ATTACHED as .TXT, or PASTED into the message as compiled in your
browser.
Cheers............

Any Information wanted about a John Cameron b. by 1775. He was on the 1820

males 10-16; one female 1-10; 1 female 10-16; 1 female b. between 1775 -
1794. John may have had a brother, Daniel living in Maury Co., Tn in 1820.

I haven't posted to the list in awhile as there does not seem to be
anyone searching for the same Cameron's as mine. But here goes again,
maybe some new folks on the list.
Duncan CAMERON b.? in ? Scotland married Margaret MAITLAND b.? in ?
Scotland. They had at least one son Robert CAMERON b. abt 1860 in
Girvan, Ayr, Scotland. Duncan CAMERON was a gamekeeper.
Robert CAMERON married in Jul 1880 to Mary Ann HIGGINS at St. Mary's
Catholic Church in Greenock, Renfrew, Scotland. They had eight
children. I have extensive research on the HIGGINS family but run up
against a brick wall with the CAMERON's and MAITLAND's. I believe it
may have been them that were the Catholic part of the family not Mary
Ann HIGGINS and that can be causing my brick wall. I know that this
family did not come to the US until after WWI.

Could sometell me why, when I sent all the Cameron information yesterday, and I know some of it was received because I had answers, this morning on my e-mail I had System Administrator, undeliverable on all 4 or 5 of the mail I had sent.
I dont want to type all the information regarding the Scotland information if it is not being received. I only started using a computer 3 months ago and there is a lot I dont understand. Please let me know if mail is getting through. Thanks.
Sue
Here is the info that I have on the Elizabeth Cameron that I am trying to
find out who she was married too.
Have copy of the 1850 Perry Co., Mississippi census dated October 30, 1850.
William Cameron 28 M farmer born in South Carolina
Jane 29 F born in Mississippi
Milissa 3 F born in Mississippi
Julianne 1 F born in Mississippi
Living right next door to William and Jane Cameron is a Elizabeth Cameron 40
f born in South Carolina. She is listed as head of household. Children with
her are:
Alijah 22 M farmer born in Mississippi
Sarah 18 F born in Mississippi
Franklin 13 m born in Mississippi
Erasmus 7 m born in Mississippi
I believe that this Elizabeth is a sister-in-law to William Cameron. In the
1860 census she is still living right next door to William and Jane, but no
children she list herself as 55 years old. A Bigsy Cameron is listed living
with her age 30 a farmer born in Mississippi. Elizabeth would have been
born between 1805-1810. This would make for another sibling that is not
listed. I believe this sibling could possibly be Hugh Cameron that is listed
with Jesse Cameron in the 1829 & 1830 Tax list. I orginally thought that
this Hugh was an Uncle to Jesse and all the siblings, but since finding this
Elizabeth, there is a possibilty that he was her husband. Hugh never shows
up after the 1830 tax list.
