Did Donald Cameron b. circa 1820 happen to have a brother named John Cameron
(b 1818) who married Mary Seaton? Seaton's mother was a Stewart. I'm
thinking there just might be a connection... Any dice? Thanks! Rommy L.

Don't close that door!! If the d/c is from Civil Registration such as
after 1855, and the birth is from a church entry such as before 1855,
then the death will be much more informative. Cheers................

Remember -- Nellie could also be Helen or Ellin. And death certificates are
notoriously much less reliable than birth certificates. The information
depends entirely on a survivor who may be upset, or may be many, many years
away from the original data. Good luck.

The ANNIVERSARY of a country
has a lot to do with genealogy!
Genealogy is a history of people!
People built Canada!
People built every nation in this world!
Canada served as a gateway
into the U. S.
Many of us Americans who are of Irish, Scottish, French & other
Ancestral
nationalities had ANCESTORS who
came into America through Canada!
Many Americans had family that
homesteaded in Canada!
Likewise, many Canadians came
to the U. S. to make their homes
during the White Pine logging days
of the 1800's.
They came, they worked,
they stayed, they helped to
build America!
Genealogy isn't just names of
people & the dates they were
born & died! Genealogy is about
the LIVES of the people who
came before us.
My thoughts on the Canadian Anniversary?
CONGRATULATIONS!
Long may she Live!
One more thing!
GOD BLESS AMERICA!

This is Dean again, it continues to be an exciting and tumultuous time right
now! All the recent information I have posted lately has been the result of
a copy of the death cert. that I received for Fred Cameron from ND. The
information on that cert. was given by his 2nd wife (no relation to me ). I
received information from Wadena Co. this morning that has me back in my
chair! I will give you both sets of info. I would appreciate your
feedback.
Death cert. Fred (A)Cameron born Aldrich MN. 3/7/1877 Parents: John
Cameron (Scotland) Millie Lyons (MN)
Birth cert. reads: Amos Cameron Born 3/7/1877 Aldrich MN.
Parents: John J. Cameron (Canada) Nellie Cameron (New York)
Wadena Co. is very small so the likelihood of two John Camerons having a son
on the same day is VERY slim! Also we did not know what the A. was for in
Freds name. I tend to believe the Birth cert. is my relation and that the
conflicting info was due to a grieving 2nd wife being asked questions at a
difficult time.
So now the search goes on for a John J. Cameron from Canada and Nellie Lyons
from New York. If anybody out there has any info. on these people I
would be very grateful. Dean
Congratulations and long may our countries stand

Well I can say that thanks to my Camerons showing up in Canada in the
early 1800's, marrying into my MacDonalds in the mid-1800's they make up
part of my connection to Sir John A. Macdonald. John with many others
helped put Canada together in 1867 and became the first Prime Minister of
Canada. That's why I like to see the type of message that Bob Cameron

Hi, Bob -- My father and several uncles -- Camerons all -- served Canada for
four years in WWI, and I've got a bunch of genealogical information thereby
from their records, so go for it.
Well, THIS Cameron's father and uncles all fought four years for Canada in
WWI, and I've got some good genealogical information about them thereby, so I
suppose that's a remote connection!
