Since it seems that most Camerons are of Scottish origin, and Angus is
not an uncommon Scottish name, I don't think all the Angus Camerons are
necessarily connected. But certainly, they all need to be checked out.
I have not found much on Camerons in Hardin Co, KY. The books I have
access to are good, but only to a point. The following might help
someone.
Benedict Cambron = Sally Ashbough 9 Jan 1832 Hardin Co, KY
Samuel Philips = Elizabeth Cambron 14 Nov 1829 Hardin Co, KY
James Cannon (Camron?) = Comfort Clifton 21 May 1803 Hardin Co, KY
Anguish Camron estate
Purchasers: Samuel Pickens, Hannah Camron, Daniel Watkin, Samuel
Miller, William Wilson, William Beal, and others.
Date: Mon. 8 July 1811.
My ancestor, Sarah Elizabeth Cameron Phillips, named a son James Cameron
Phillips. On the marriage records, her name is spelled Cambron. I am
under the impression they are the same name.
Bobbie,
Do you know where in New York this family lived?

Hi Laurie,
I tried to access your webpage but could only get the two pictures of the
angels on the left and the word "geocities" in the bottom right corner on a
pretty foam green background. Anything else your homepage may contain was not
readable to my computer's Netscape browser.
I tried.....

Hi Camerons -
My GG-Grandmother was Sophia Cameron, b. 18 March 1826 in Pennsylvania
(probably in Dunbar, Fayette County) and died 9 March 1903 in Connellsville,
Fayette County, Pennsylvania. She married George W. Devan who was killed in
Virginia on 20 May 1864 during the Civil War. Her parents were Hugh Cameron
(b. 20 Oct 1792 in Martinsburg, Berkely County, Virginia, m. 20 March 1821 in
Uniontown, Fayette County, Pennsylvania, d. 26 June 1866 in Dunbar, Fayette
County, Pennsylvania) and Jane White (b. 10 October 1804 in either
Pennsylvania or New Jersey, d. 6 June 1884 in Fayette County, Pennsylvania).
Her paternal grandparents were Alexander Cameron (b. before 1765 probably in
Scotland, m. 14 January 1792 in Berkely County, Virginia, details on death
unknown) and Sophia Bruer (b. before 1766, d. after 1810)
Any information on this line of Camerons would be greatly appreciated. This
has been a stone wall for me for a long time. Thanks.

I know this may sound funny but we need people to post their information
to the list. Also we need people to ask questions to the list. If you don't
ask questions no one will know who or what you are looking for and there may
be some one out there who can help you. If you post you may also help someone
find one of their long lost relatives and wouldn't that be GREAT?

My Cameron lineage is really just a name.
Sarah Elizabeth Cameron (Cambron) b. 1807 KY d. 10 Oct 1869 Schuyler Co,
IL. She married Samuel Phillips 19 Nov 1829, Hardin Co, KY.
>From Hardin Co, KY marriage records: PHILIPS, Samuel, and Elizabeth
Cambron. Surety Lewis McLure. Asahel Philips, man's father, gave
written consent; witnesses John Philips and Lewis McLure. Girl of age,
proved by Miles H. Chenoweth. 19 Nov 1829 by Colemore Lovelace.
Hardin Co, KY records mention an Angus Cameron--Could this be Sarah
Elizabeth's father?
Any information would be appreciated.
