Mary Ann:
I sent you two E-Mails last night. One with a .pdf attachment, one with the
text of the attachment included in the message.
While I did get a copy of the first message back less the attachment, it
appears that you did not see it as I spoke of finding the URL and locating
the Camerer family mis-indexed as Cameron.
I went back and reviewed the mailing list postings and see that my message
with the attachment was not posted at all.
I'll add the text of the previous message here just so we get back in sync.
Thank you for the additional info on Daniel.
Looks like we've stirred things up as I see a post from Jay.
Is there a way I can review the postings prior to my joining the list.
Please advise.
Repeat of previous message;
Thank you again for the prompt reply. In review of my previous post I think
it reads rather harshly. I hope you did not take it that way as it was
meant to express my desire for accuracy and no attack on you was consciously
implied or intended.
I did some digging and tracked down the URL for on-line census records in
IL.
http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilgenweb/county.html
This is a list of all the counties in the state which have web sites, many
with ensus records. If you scroll down, you can click on Edgar which will
bring you to the 1830 & 1840 census images at their site. One of the
volunteers has indexed the 1840 census. Unfortunately, the name Camerer was
mis-interpreted as Cameron. Yet when you do go the the referenced pages, I
think you will agree the names are clearly written as Camerer. On the page
for John Cameron (069a), I see the next name is Benjamin Dill. Very clearly
Dill, but indexed as Dell. (I did sent a note to the book administrator
advising her of same.) There is an Israel Cameron listed in the index, but
the image looks more like Daniel Camerer (family of two). The image of the
page for Daniel Cameron looks more like Danl Camerer (family of 10).
While the Bio for my Thomas M. indicates John and Harriet had eight
children, there are but eight enumerated (two I assume are mom and dad).
If John and Harriet were dead by 1850, I wonder who took in the children.
perhaps the 1850 census will tell.
Regarding your request for additional details on the descendants of Thomas
M. Camerer, perhaps the attached 4 generation pdf file will suffice. His
daughter, Pearl Camerer was my Great grandmother on my maternal side.
In hopes that this dialogue will assist others and perhaps someone can link
into the line.
I would be most inetersted in corresponding with any cousins that mmight
materialize.
Regarding your proximity to Edgar Co., I was born and raised in Springfield,
IL but have lived in Danbury since 1978. I have and Aunt & Uncle and a
cousin in Charleston, IL and another in the St. Louis, MO vicinity.
My primary focus is on the LaDew line, but have recently begun to look at
other lines as well.
Thank you again for your assistance. Perhaps new leads will materialize.
Best Regards,
Jeff
