CAPTAIN ANTHONY CAMBURN, married Hannah Lippincott about 1850. She was born
May 3, 1824. (see: Lippincott, The Sixth Generation of the Descendants of
Richard and Abigail Lippincott by Ruth Olsen. Pub. By the Gloucester County
Historical Society.) (Grant 17)
MARIA LOUISA CAMBURN, daughter of Anthony and Hannah (and probably named
after Hannah's aunt, Maria Louisa Lippincott), was born on November 13, 1853.
Her family lived in Hackensack in 1881.
On February 16, 1881. She married Elias Hullfish Chambers, Jr., who was born
about June 1851 in Waretown, NJ, the son of Elias, Sr. and Mary Ann Soper,.
He was 29 and she was 27. His occupation was "seaman" and hers was
"clerk".
It was the first marriage for both. (see CHAMBERS)
Elias and Maria removed to New Haven, CT. They had three children: Arthur
Woodburn, Rufus Edwards and Matilda.
Rufus Edwards (called Ed) Chambers married Alice and had two daughters, Mary
and Louise.
Matilda, called Mattie, married Brooks Cole and had six children: Delsie,
Madison, Arthur, Evelyn, Wallace, and one other.
Maria died May 1948, aged 95. Elias died Nov. 16, 1919 in New Haven, CT.
