Hope you don't mind me jumping in, but your name matched with CALVIT,
well, I couldn't resist.
In my BALLENTINE line (SC), the CALVITT line (SC) married in when
Lydia Ann CALVITT, daughter of John M. CALVITT and Martha CRAWFORD,
married Rev. Peter HUXFORD, Jr., August 7, 1843.
Peter HUXFORD is my gggrandfather on my grandmother's side. I don't
have a lot on my CALVITT line, but the name survives today in both
my HUXFORD and BALLENTINE lines as a given name.
Does you line have any connections to SC? Sure would like to find
someone who does. They are very elusive in SC.
