My Calvitt line has been very elusive. I am going to list what I
"think" I know and see if anyone recognizes the line.
Edward CALVITT who died in 1799 in the Pee Dee District (now Marion
County) SC, married Mary OWENS, daughter of Edward and Mary Ann
(BRYAN) OWENS. The had (at least) 4 children.
One of their sons, John M. CALVITT, b. ca. 1794, married Martha
CRAWFORD 17 Aug 1828. She was b. 3 Mar 1799, daughter of Levi and
Maccarine (OWENS) CRAWFORD. He died 13 Jun 1843 and is buried in
Alvin Community, Berkeley County, SC. She died 28 Jun 1842 and is
also buried there. They had (at least) 8 children.
One of their daughter, Lydia Ann CALVITT, b. 28 Jun 1825, married Rev.
Peter HUXFORD, JR. 7 Aug 1843. She died 27 Apr 1884 and is buried in
St. Stephen's Episcopal Cemetery in St. Stephen, Berkeley County, SC.
He died 5 Aug 1896 and is also buried there. They had 12 children.
These are my great great grandparents.
