I forgot to add in my first message that John Ford of the Buckels connection
is not the son of Joseph Ford from NC. Belenda's John Ford was born in
either Pa (listed on census) or VA, (according to Belenda) Joseph Ford was
born in NC and moved to MS Territory before 1750 or so. Kate

Subject: [CALVIT-L] HESTER FORD'S family
Hi, Calvit Cousins--
Do any of you know anything about the family of HESTER FORD who was b. in
Natchez,
MS? In the 1780s or 1790s, Hester married JOHN SPIRES (from KY) in
Franklin County, MS. Their daughter ELIZABETH SPIRES, b. c. 1793 in MS,
married WILLIAM CALVIT in Aug. 1809 in Adams County, MS. William Calvit
was a son of John Calvit and _____ Brantley.
>From material I've found, it appears that Hester's father may have been a
Joseph Ford, but I have no documentation. Q: Could my Hester be related to
the Fords discussed by Belinda and Kate?
I am descended from Wm Calvit & Eliz. Spires through their son, CHARLES
BRANTLEY CALVIT & SARAH E. CARTER. (Sarah's father was WILLIS CARTER and
her mother was FREELOVE SIMS who died between Dec, 1899 - Mar, 1900 in Adams
Co., MS.) And Charles Brantley's and Sarah's son THOMAS LEONARD CALVIT and
his wife, Norma Malvina Lanius, were my grandparents.
I would LOVE to hear from ANY of you who have information on any of the
following:
FORD family of Hester Ford
SPIRES family of John Spires
CARTER family of Willis Carter (from Virginia)
SIMS family of Freelove Sims
THANK YOU!
