Kate--thank you again! Next time I'm in MS, I'm going to the library in
Franklin County! (We drive from NC to Texas at least once/year and do
research on the way!)

Subject: Re: [CALVIT-L] HESTER FORD'S family
I think I have just written this to you on another e-mail- but just to
make
sure--John Ford who married Cavitt and the Buckels family is not the son of
Joseph Ford. I spent several years sorting out the Ford families and there
are basically three different non-related families in SouthWest MS from
1750 to 1850---It would be very easy for everyone to claim Joseph--and most
people have in earlier works but John Ford b in 1766 is NOT his son. (I
don't own Joseph Ford--so if you want to continue to claim him it is of no
consequence to me--but if you really want to be accurate in your family
research--I suggest you listen to what I tell you about this situation.
Leroy, Hadsky, and several other old timers and experts in the Franklin
County area all agreed that the two families don't match) There is a
working paper of some 30 pages or so on file at the Franklin County Library
giving the full review of all the Ford data which covers all of the
documentation I could find on these people. Kate
