Kay:
Re your inquiries yesterday: yes, Theodore E. Calvit died 30 Nov. 1906,
age 71.
No, we don't know who Nannie O. Calvit was.
John Calvit m. Nancy : don't know her maiden name. The
information is from the 1850 U.S. Census for Franklin Co., MS, which
lists the head of household as John Calvit, age 34, farmer; Nancy, age
28; Edward, age 8; John, age 6; Joseph, age 4; Laura, age 2; Mary, 4
mon. John is buried in the Calvit cemetery at Liberty Hall, Franklin
Co., and Franklin County Cemeteries has a note that he was the son of
William, but that info was based on the census entry.
Theophilus Calvit: On the 1850 Franklin Co. U.S. Census, two children
are listed for William Calvit and Elizabeth (Spires): Theophilus, age
19; Theodore, age 15. Theophilus was also a student at Jefferson
College, near Natchez, in 1847; we haven't found anything yet about his
death. Theodore E. (not G.--Goodspeed got it wrong) was the youngest of
the 14 children of William Calvit and Elezabeth Spires; Theophilus was
the next oldest. Andre Theophilus was Theodore's oldest child, named
after Theodore's father-in-law, Andre Gobeau. In turn, Andre Theophilus
named his 2nd son Andre Theophilus, too (1898-1974).
