Morgan, I am not sure which post you are referring to, but since it is
the Byrd's that will not be hard as I don't have much on them.
Samuel E Byrd - was a plantation mgr. in 1860 in Tensas Parish, La. He
died during the war in Murfreesboro, TN.
His wife Harriet disappears, I haven't been able to find out what
happened to her. His son, George E Byrd doesn't show up again until the
1900 census in Hardin Co., TX, then disappears again. His son, John
Leonard Byrd was born 1890 in Cass or Bowie Co. Tx. Married a Maud
Malone in Rapides Parish in 1911, she divorced him in 1913 in Grants
Parish, naming a Mrs. Calvit of Lena Station as his mistress. He died in
Angelina Co. TX in 1938. My dad Wallace Oscar Byrd was born in 1923.
Started to 1st grade in Boyce (Rapides), then moved back to Tx
(Angelina), then back to Alexandria (Rapides) and finally settling in
Angelina Co. He remembers having family all over Rapides Parish. I have
some other names, maybe they will be helpful to you. I haven't been able
to track any of them down.
The 1911 Rapides marrige lic. was witnessed by : A B Byrd, A Boden (?),
James Bub/Berber/Beib it is really hard to say.
Other Byrd 's in this family known to me:
Laura J. Byrd 1855 (b. LA)
James M Byrd 1859 (b. LA)
Samuel W Byrd 1879 (b. TX)
Mary G Byrd 1881 (b. TX)
Arden E "Bud" Byrd 1884 (b. LA)
Nora Belle Byrd 1896 (b. TX)
Walter E Byrd 1892 (b. TX)
I hope this helps. Thank you for replying.
