Hello Calvit Cousins,
This is Benny Calvit, son of Edwin D., s/o Charles L., s/o Joseph H. II, s/o
Joseph H., s/o John, s/o Joseph, s/o Anthony, s/o Jean, etc. etc.
After my line moved from the Natchez, Washington area, they migrated into
Hinds Co. near Utica. My G Grandfather, Joseph H. II, ran away from home and
went to Texas in Lamar Co. They moved to Bowie Co. in Northeast TX, and we
have been here since early 1900's.
If anybody has any info on where Joseph b. 1745 d. 1819 Adams Co., is
buried, please drop me a line. I have visited Calviton Cemetery, where
Thomas is buried and I believe my brother and I found the old home place
where Calviton was. We visited the home place of David Hunt, Woodlawn, and
his grave at Calviton Cemetery. It is pretty grown up and in grave
condition, no pun intended. It seems to me that Claiborne Co. and Port
Gibson would do something to keep Calviton Cemetery up since David Hunt did
so much for the area. It was very neat to stomp around where ones ancestors
once were. Good hunting.
Benny
