As I have reported to this group several times, this child was born
pre-marriage and was bone of contention between Thomas and his first wife
from who he separated. Somewhere in the Jeff Co records are records of his
settlement with the first wife. Why is this so hard to believe? Kate

Kay, I think Thomas had been foolin around and had this child by Ms
Covington. As he was getting old and probably feeling he needed to right
the
wrong he married Ms Covington. I don't have any proof of this but
from the
grave comes good and bad alike. I have read or was told that Samual his
son
and EX. of his will was not happy about the second will because it
included
this child which would be his half sister. If you find out the truth about
all this please print it.
There was a slave in one of the will that was mentioned. Her grave is
located near Calviton cemetery. the head stone is home made and is not
made
by an educated person. there are several graves located in the black
section
of this cemetery to the east of Thomas' and David Hunt's.
