Bellinda,
I forgot to ask if you have had any luck with the Harrington/ Herrington
connection to Mary Calvit Higdon. I know that Elizabeth (Harrington)
Magruder of Port Gibson was some kin to Samuel Calvit, but I don't know how,
unless it was through Mary Higdon. It is my belief that the Harrington's
came down the Tenn./ MS. rivers with the Higdon's and Calvit's when they
arrived in Natchez with all the rest of the different families from Tenn.
Any thoughts on this?
Benny Calvit

Hello, Kay, Benny and whomever else is there,
Re: 2001 Roll Call
This is Bellinda Myrick - Barnett in Texas.
I am descended from Elizabeth CALVIT and John FORD through their son,
Henry
FORD, born: abt. 1790 in Natchez, MS, who married Mary BUCKLES,

BUCKLES married 2nd wife, Nancy KILLIAN (GALTNEY) widow of Abram GALTNEY.
The aforementioned Elizabeth CALVIT, so far, is thought by all that have
contacted me to be the daughter of Antoine/Anthony CALVIT and his wife,
Mary
DEAN, (who
md. 2nd husband, Daniel HIGDON,) and then was Mary DEAN (CALVIT) (HIGDON.)
My descent from the aforementioned Mary BUCKLES/BUCKHOLTS and her husband,
Henry FORD, is through their daughter, Elizabeth Ann FORD, and her
husband,
Jehu Madison GRISHAM, through their daughter, my 2nd great
grandmothe,
Frances Elizabeth GRISHAM, born: abt. 1840, (her 2nd husband was Zachary
Taylor FAITH,) and she married her 1st husband, my 2nd great grandfather,
Lawrence M. HATTEN, born: abt. 1833 in MS, died: 1866, (died as Confed.

ALMOND,

COLEMAN, WALKER, McCARTY, LARRIMORE, EVANS, JONES,) and through their
daughter, my grandmother, named Ethel Rosalee HATTEN, (md. to 1st husband,
Joseph Marion/Mancil? WOMACK,) my grandmother, who married as his 3rd wife
to
my grandfather, who was Louis Hector SLAUGHTER, born: 1869, (1st
wife,
Callie Martha MUNN (KING,) 2nd wife, Mary LEE,) (he was 61 years old when
my
mother was born,) and through their daughter, my mother, Ethel
LaVerne
SLAUGHTER, born in West Carroll Parish, who married Billy Earle "Bill"
MYRICK, my father, born in Simpson Co., MS, (who descends from (Major)
Samuel
EARLE, III, born: 1692 in Westmoreland Co., VA, who was the grandson
of
Samuel EARLE, I, (son of (Sir) John EARLE, son of (Sir) Richard EARLE,)
landgrant partner of (Major) John STITH, that my mother descends from
through
his daughter, Agnes STITH who married Thomas WYNNE, and through their
son,
(Colonel) Robert WYNNE, and his wife, Martha JEFFERSON, daughter of
Martha/Mary BRANCH, (daughter of Christopher BRANCH, II,) and her husband,
Thomas (1) JEFFERSON, (son of Samuel JEAFFRESON/JEFFERSON,) and they were
the
great grandparents of (Pres.) Thomas (3) JEFFERSON.) There are a
variety
of
connections throughout these lines.
