Hi Helen Spoon and others,
Regarding request for Jabez Calvert and Love Chinn: According to info. in
O'Gorman, this is the Wm. Calvert & Eliz. Nodding line, #7101. Son #7111
Jabez b. 1805 m. Malinda (prob. Hawkings).Nodding Calvert #7110 was bro.
of Jabez. He m. Jane Morley or Bowles. They moved to Carroll Co., MO
immediately after their marriage. Second son was #7167 Jabez Calvert b.
1828 m. Paulina SHINN. The info. on them has them in Cooper Co. MO and he
was m. 1862. They had a dau. LOVIS Calvert #7281 who m. Otto
Riemensnider. No marriage date, but she was b. 1864. No more info. on
them in O'Gorman.
I checked CHINN and found many in Loudoun Co., Fauquier Co., and Fayette
Co. (KY). However, after seeing Lovis Calvert's mother was a SHINN, I
checked WV IN THE REV. and found ISAAC SHINN, b. NJ, went to VA m. Agnes
Drake. They had several chinldren in Isaac of MO. and there might be a
connection. Some of the sibs of Isaac went to IL and OH. Sisters, Agnes
Bartley and Susanna Bartley went to MO.
ISSAC SHINN enlisted in 1778 and at one time was a scout and spy. He
served under: Robertson orRobinson, Davis or Davidsons, Gregory, and
Duvall. Isaac received a pension in Harrison Co., VA but there was some
suspension. If he is connected to Pauline Shinn, you are eligible for DAR
membership.
The only CHINN I found was Pleasant W. Chinn m. Fannie Daugherty. This is
also a MO. entry. Fannie's Calvert line--Wm. Doughtery, Delilah Calvert,
Zeal, Wm., Geo., Geo., Wm., Leonard, Geo. Lord Baltimore. I could find no
Humphrey connection except as perhaps a cousin. Wm. Daughtery d. in
Platte City, MO.
Since you are in Bartlesville, OK do you know any of Mullendore families
scattered around? They are my father's line, and do have Calvert
connections.
