The lineage I am working on ends in Belmont County, Ohio. The first
Calvert in the lineage is not proven to be the father of the second at this
point. There are enough points of convergence from what is know, however,
to make this tentative assumption. There is a belief that Jacob Calvert
(#1 below) was the brother of John and Job Calvert who came to Belmont
County at the same time.
1.Jacob Calvert d. May 11, 1853
m. Mary "Polly" Shepherd (daughter of Nathan Shepherd)

Calvert/Toomey, Bloomington Minnesota. Records
originally from Shepherd family lineage. It is believed that Jacob came to
Ohio to found a Methodist Church in eastern Ohio.)
2. John Calvert (Son of 1. Jacob) b. January 4, 1804, Belmont County,
Ohio. d. December 14, 1854

(John Calvert seems to have moved from Belmont County, Ohio, to Monroe
County and then in 1850 , at the time of the census, he was found in Monroe
County. The family then moved to Appanoose County Iowa. John could have
died in Iowa or Monroe County, Ohio. His family was in Appanoose County on
the 1860 census.)

Calvert along with Bible Records that were in the possession of the
Richardson family. He was well situated in Appanoose County and served in
the Union Army while there. Further history may be garnered from histories
of Kansas and the Kansas State Genealogical Society.)
