Hello George...Thank you very much for digging into the Cloah Calvert of
Georgia mystery for me. You have provided some valuable clues which
match nicely with the scant information I currently have. (1) No wonder
I can't find "Cloah" if her name was actually "Cloy". (2) The
children's
names of Francis Calvert with either his first wife (unknown) or his
second wife, Margaret Hambrick, also match 4 of 6 children Cloah (Cloy)
had by Absalom Lomax...Nancy, Margaret, James, and George W.(3) The
letter from Rev. Thomas Marion Calvert dataed 1906 saying Cloy married
John Redman also might fit since since Absalom Lomax was dead by 1830 or
earlier.
Also, I'm happy to see that you feel that birth dates of Francis
Calvert's middle children are based on guesswork. If Cloah (Cloy) were
born in 1793 ( not 1788 as I currently have listed ), then she would
have had her first child by Absalom at age 14. I'm going to attempt to
check all this out further.
Where did you look up this information ? Is it readily available ?
Thanks again for your help on the illusive Cloah ( Cloy ) Calvert.
