Jill, and CALVERT group:
I am not sure, most of the family memebers have not persued passed Matthew.
The information that I found was quite a shock. I don't know have many
RODHAM's know about it. I have sent it over the RODHAM-L but no one has
answered it.
So I will keep trying to find out where the original came from. I live 1
mile from Everton's Genealogy Library but they do not have a copy of the
original book. My cousin goes down to the SLC LDS Library on a regular
bases to read the books and papers. I don't think that she has even looked
for the COPPAGE book. So I will keep trying to get as much information
that I can.
Hope all have a very Merry Christmas
Grace

: Dear Calvert family researchers,
:
: I found a book by the MARYLAND HISTORICAL MAGAZINE called MARYLAND
: GENEALOGIES which state that Leonard CALVERT was not a religious man
unlike
: his father. Is it possible that this Leonard is the father of Matthew
: RODHAM? It was Leonard who paid for the transport of Matthew from
England.
: Matthew was his servant for several years and it is likely that he would
: have paid for his trip due to the fact that he was his son. It was also
: proper at that time to take on the responsability of raising an
: illigitimate child and make them a servant until the age of
accountability
: was reached.
:
: I would like to know your thoughts.
