This is great news. I really appreciate the assistance. I guess I've
just been barking up the wrong tree for too many years.
Let me see if I have this correct.
Charles Calvert, (Anne's father below) would be brother to
George Calvert of Stafford Co. b. abt 1663 d. Stafford Co, abt 1699.
(possibly married to Anne Nottley)
Is this correct?
Does anyone have information of Charles (b., d. dates, locations)?
Thanks,
Sam

Sam, your second family line connects with all
study group members, who descend through Leonard
Calvert and his son William Calvert. Your
posting began as follows:
1. Ann Calvert b.1678, VA m. Thomas Porter
2. Benjamin Porter b. 1700, VA m. Ann Campbell
Anne Calvert, born about 1696 in Stafford County,
Virginia, was the daughter of Charles Calvert and
his wife Mary (Howson) Calvert. She married
Thomas Porter in about 1714. Thomas Porter died
in 1740 leaving a Will dated April 8, 1740. His
wife Anne and all the children were named in the
Will. Benjamin Porter was a Rev. Soldier born
about 1723.
The lineage of Anne Calvert is well proven. She
is listed in Ella Foy O'Gorman's book as Calvert
#27. The line goes Anne, Charles, William,
Leonard, George -the 1st Lord Baltimore.
Ella's book presents a number deeds, wills, and
other documents that substantiate this line of
the family. To the best of my knowledge, you are
the first study group member linked to Charles
Calvert of Stafford Calvert. If there is
"in-breeding", it may be way back the line the
early "calf-herds" of northern England.
