Hello fellow Calverts
I have listed a major portion of my Calvert ancestry on the Cortland County
New York page. However, the format that is presently there is not very easy
to maneuver around in, and I am looking to find an appropriate HTML program
to submit it anew. Since I sent that portion of the genealogy to the
listmistress for posting, I have entered the entirety of a book that was
done on the Calvert line from Cortland County as well as having my own
research in my database. I would like to submit all of that everntually to
the Calvert list. Our immigrant ancestor came probably from Armagh, Ireland
to America in ~1792 bringing 5 sons and a daughter with him. Another son is
said to have come into the country later (his naturalization record says he
was born Tonnomorough, Down, Ireland). I have personally researched
descendents of two of the sons, have been given material on two others and
the daughter and am working on compiling the information on descendents of
the other two sons. This will make a fine addition to the Calvert
information base, even in its present unfinished state. Are we descendents
from the titled Calvert lineage? I do not have information one way or the
other. But if we are, it is through those that went to Ireland, or possibly
to Scotland first and then on to Ireland.
So, when we have a web page up, I would like to make the contribution of a
fine Calvert lineage from the immigrant ancestor John Calvert b ~1731
Ireland d 1808 Cortland, New York to present day in several of his
descendency lines.
