Keep in mind folks, at least if you are using Netscape 4.0, you can turn
cookies off completely. Look under edit...preferences...advanced. You could
also make your cookie.txt in your Netscape directory "read only." AOL's
browser used to be set up not to accept cookies. I don't know if it is
still that way or not.
I'm not trying to support cookies here, I don't like them either. I'm just
trying to give you an alternative to missing some great sites. Boycotting
is really unfair to the users of services that support cookies. I have a
web page on geocities. I'd hate to think I was being punished for something
beyond my control.
Just my humble opinion :)

Here Here! I don't visit Geocities, Microshaft or any other place that
uses
MY computer resources! It is like stealing a penny from everone who
visits.
I wish everyone would learn this and boycott those places. I don't know
if
MY ISP does this or not. If they are no one has told me yet.
The sooner folks learn that they are keeping records for others on thier
computer the sooner they can work to stop it with out gov't regs.
Most people don't even know they have a system set up to allow cookies
with out being notified. What the don't see can hurt them some day.
Cookie files are files kept on the visitors computer and can be read
by sites you visit and more data written to YOUR files if you have
options set to allow cookies.
Soap box off.
Cheers
