One of the books I came across in the Kentucky Room library while in Ky.
this spring was the above. Heritage of Faith, The Calvert, Green, and
Alvey Family Histories by James H. Mosby.
For some reason I did not copy the copyright page, so I'm not sure as to
what I can send to the list and what I can't.
So I will send a summary of parts of the book that I feel the list will
benefit from.
The first pg. 11 (Submitted by Eugenia Calvert Holland) From the Peabody
Library-- Crosland of Newby.
Lady Calvert Anne Mynne
b. 1579 and d. 1622, daughter of George Mynne of Hertfordshire, d.
1581, and Elizabeth Wroth, his wife (d. 1614), dau. of Sir Thomas Wroth
of Durance in Enfield, Middlesex, and his wife, the Lady Mary Rich, a
dau. of Richard, Lord (Chancellor) Rich, of Henry VIII's reign.Sir
Thomas Wroth b. 1519, d. 1573, was at court during the brief reign of
King Edward VI, and who died in the arms of Sir Thomas. His
g.g.grandfather was Sir John Wroth, Lord Mayor of London in 1361.
Then there is datails on the Wroth lineage. Anyone interested contact
me privately and I will send it to you.
George Mynne d. 20 May, 1581 and was buried in St. Mary's Church,
Hertingfordbury, Hertfordshire, beside his wife Elizabeth. They had 3
sons and a three daughter. After his death Elizabeth married Nicholas
Butler, Esq. She died 14 Aug. 1614. Through the Rich family, Lady
Calvert was highly connected, as her grandmother (Lady Wroth, nee Rich)
was aunt of Robert Rich, Earl of Warwick, and sister of Lady Peyton,
Lady Dudley, Lady Drewry and Lady D'Arcy.
Issue of Lord Baltimore and Anne Mynne
1. Cecil b. 1605 (Second Lord Baltimore.)
2. Leonard b. 1606 (Governor of Maryland)
3. Anne married bef. 1632 William Peaseley, Esq.
4. George died unmarried 1634 in Maryland
5. Dorothy married James Talbot (this is followed by; d.s.p.) (I
don't know what that means. Can someone tell me?)
6. Francis, d. (s.p.v.p.) (?)
7. Henry d. unmarried 1635
8. Elizabeth d. v. p. unmarried
9. Grace b. 1614, d....; m. 163½, Sir Robert Talbot of Carton, a brother
of the Duke of Tyrconnel.
10. Helen , married George Greene July 9, 1589
Issue of Joanne (second wife of Lord Baltimore)
Philip b. 1626. Was long Chancellor of Maryland 1660; 1669 Deputy
Governor of the Province. Married twice, has no issue.
wife 1: abt 1658 Anne Wolseley (first cousin of Jane Lowe Sewall, Lady
Baltimore, q.c.), dau. of Sir Thomas Wolseley of Staffordshire, England.
wife 2: Jane Sewall 1681; dau. of Jane Lowe Sewell, Lady Baltimore, by
her first husband, Henry Sewall, M.D., of Maryland. Philip Calvert died
shortly after his second marriage. Jane (his widow) married John Paston.
