Hello all!
This message is going out to all the lists, so please, if you need to
reply to me personally, send a note indicating which list you are on!
:)
It has been pretty quiet on-list for the past few days, so I would
like to encourage you all to post your queries, questions, etc. again
to catch all the new subscribers. We have had many new people join
us in the past few weeks, so here is your chance to catch all those
who might just have the answer to your questions!
I have to report a "success story" myself as earlier this afternoon,
after searching for YEARS for an elusive "Hall" ancestor" I found out
her name was not Hall after all! It was Hummels. Anyway, the
gentleman who clued me in found my post to the "Roots Surname List"
on Rootsweb and contacted me. (For anyone who has not done this, I
highly recommend it! The address is
http://www.rootsweb.com/rootsweb/searches/#rsl and it may take a few
minutes to an hour to do, depending on how many surnames you enter.
I am just thrilled that I have finally made this connection.
So, I really want to encourage you all to POST, as you never know who
you might find.
Also, the offer still stands to create web pages with your
genealogical data on them at my site. Just email me the gedcom file
and I will let you know when they are created. For a sample of one
that just got finished, (hope you don't mind Ray!) visit
http://creations.bayside.net/Gene/ray/surnames.html It's nothing
fancy, but at least you can see the lines! Also, now the person and
names can be found using a search engine like the GENDEX.
In addition, if anyone has additional queries or links to their pages
they would like to add, please email me with what list, and the
info. You should get a "done" response from me in a few days. If
not, please send again as I sometimes lose mail!
Thanks again to everyone for making these list so great!
