Benjamin's father was Benjamin (Sr) who was born abt 1808. I do not have a firm date
but 1808-1810. He married Mariah Minor whom I have not worked on but she is probably
related to Col John Minor of Greene Co PA.
Benjamin was the 9th of 10 children. I have his birth year as 1849 but no expertise there
and I have him married to Maria Cox.
Benjamin's father was Ezekiel Calvert b apr 1773 in PA. We are not sure of the county
but perhaps Chester or Cumberland or Lancaster. Ezekiel married Rhoda Debolt. They had 11
children and lived in Greene County PA, migrating there probably before 1800. His father
is there in 1793 on a tax list. His older Brother Thomas appears in Greene County
certainly by 1806 but probably before 1800 as we can see via the Census of Mapletown
Greene County-Thomas Colver. This is probably Thomas the older brother of Ezekiel who was
b 1769 in PA who m1 Anna Ewing and then Johann Margaret Thralls? late in life.
Thomas, Ezekiel, Robert, Isaac Jr, Sarah Hannah, Elizabeth, Margaret and WIlliam are the
known children of Isaac by one of two wives the latter being Fanny Bullitt and the first
wife most likely Elizabeth Gart(sic) possibly Cart m 1768 Newcastle Co DE to Isaac of
Chester Co PA(most likely). It is likely that there are other issue of Isaac perhaps John
1777, Francis 1780, a female 1781-84.
I descend from Thomas Calvert. Jim Ray, who follows this lists descends from Robert and he
may add comments to this son and grandson of Ezekiel Calvert.
I would like to know more about your Benjamin. You can reach me via this list or directly
via email daipdq(a)juno.com.
We are also seeking a male participant for contributing to the DNA Project for the Calvert
Surname. We have no known descendants of Ezekiel to demonstrate parentage to Isaac
Calvert. We now have a total of 6 participants in the DNA project, 3 from Thomas
Calvert's line, 1 from Robert. 2 from Jacob Calvert of Ohio who is the son of John
Calvert of Mifflin Co.
Adding a descendant of Ezekiel would prove another line of the children of Isaac and
further verify kinship tto John Calvert of Mifflin Co.
We are trying to prove that John Calvert of Mifflin and Isaac Calvert of Greene County,
are the same as those documented in Chester and sons of Thomas Calvert b 1716 in Chester
who married Sarah Williamson.
Please write and let me know about your Benjamin's descent. We are a group of family
researchers and I am pleased to find your post. Sorry It took me so long to recognize this
as it would help greatly fill in the picture of Ezekiel's line.
Regards,
David Bell (daipdq(a)juno.com and Jim Ray follows this list. His email is jrray4(a)msn.com).
