If you can help with the ancestry of Patrick T Calvert
I spoke with a Robert Calvert today, son of Robert Calvert b 1901 who lived in TX and
moved to Southern OK. I was looking for a Robert Calvert in my line and stumbled across
Robert who lives in Atoka. He knew his father and grandfather but nothing much else. What
I found was that his grandfather was Edward A Calvert. Robert said he was
born at Whitewater MO but it appear to me that he is mistaken. Edward may have lived in MO
as a child but was born in Arkansas. His middle name is Alexander and he is Alexander in
an early Census of his father who is Patrick T. Calvert. I see the family descent this way
at the moment:
James or Edward Calvert b 1768 and 1788 or another brother I have not yet found. They
would be born in TN at any rate. At this point, I think Edward is the father of Alexander
who is the father of Edward A and Patrick T.
If the sire of the family is James as Census seems to indicate, I can logically group the
families in this descent:
James Calvert b 1788 TN
Edward b 1788 TN & Ruth? dau? Wife, age 42? NC
Robert Calvert b 1801 m Mary b1806 brother of Edward?
( next is the son of either Edward or Robert )
Alexander Calvert b about 1821(brother 1)
Robert b abt 1825(Brother 2)
Patrick T b 1826 married 1847 m Susan Walthen(Brother 3)
Edward A b 1853 m Luticia ? whom I think Edward Alex.
Robert Calvert b 1901 m Essie Paploma Williams
Robert Calvert of whom I made acquaintance.
I haven't got a firm handle on Edward A or Patrick and which Calvert line from which
they descend but it surely appears that the list of Calverts in Saline in 1850 is a key to
the puzzle and that TN AL are origin locations around 1800. Patrick is not listed in
Dewel's book
Our Calvert Kin so this may be one of those odd families that came out of VA that
hasn't traced back farther than 1750 if that far. It certainly looks to me though,
that they are related to the Robert Calvert b 1801 and Edward b 1788 and that James
Calvert is the sire of the family 82 years old in 1850 thus born about 1768 in TN. Edward
in 1788 may be his brother or oldest son and I sorta think the latter. It sort of seems
that Alexander Calvert may be father to both Edward A(lexander) named for his grandfather
and father, and Patrick
T.
In purusuing around I found an Edward Calvert also living in Saline Co AR as follows:
US Census 1850 - Saline Co, AR, Saline Dist; Roll 30, page 97 Township: Saline District
Edward Calvert age 62 thus b 1788 TN
and Ruth 42 thus b 1808 NC PAGE 96a
Same Census Saline Co is Alexander (it looks like Patrick is coming down through the
family line in different families). Is this Alexander father or uncle of Edward A? Ie,
does this Alexander have a brother Patrick who is the father of Edward A?

Edward A, who must be Edward Alexander (ie Edward A one Census, Alexander another) I found
fairly Easily. He married Luticia Williams who is 10 years his Junior. Robert Said that
Luticia died somewhat young and they had many children. His own father also died young. I
am of the impression that Edward married second after Luticia but ????

Essie Hopoma Williams of Cherokee and Chickasaw descent. I think Robert Sr. married her in
OK but had lived near Mineral Wells before moving to the Lehigh OK area. The land of
Edward was given in 160 acre lots to his sons. I spoke with Robert, grandson of Edward.
The place where the range was improved was on the Butterfield Stage road. There were old
stockyards there and Robert raised an historical marker. Rob't also wrote some News
articles about
the area which he is going to forward to me. His father was
given 160 acres but died young in an accident after receiving the land. b 1901 so not in
the 1900 Census. Robert indicated that there was a wife who died young. His own mother
passed away about 5 years ago(2000). More to come. Robert Calvert, Atoka OK - 2/24/05 deb
