According to RD Furlong in a book titled Dulany-Furlong
Kindred Families There is an Appendix which shows
Isaac B1735
Ezekiel B1755
Mary
and
Thomas b1769
Originally I thought there must be a generation between isaac and Thomas because of the
age of isaac and the birth date of Thomas as 1784. If Thomas were b1769, he would have
been 43 years old in 1812(he was commissioned by Harrison) and could be my Thos. The
record below shows ezekiel Zeal George John and Reuben in the rev war. Thomas b1769 would
have been too young. But linking ezekiel his brother
to my line and finding this record makes me think that there is a linkage.
I am trying to sort this line out and had thought the book to be wrong but now think
otherwise.
My Thomas who had the children
shown in the book and family record(Thomas,John, Hugh Ewing, Clare, Mary and Matilda). The
Thomas of my line fought in the W of 1812, at Tippecanoe under Harrison and was at Ft.
Meigs. The Thomas I show in the issue of Thomas(1) is the eldest child. He is not shown in
the Furlong book(Thomas C which I believe is Thomas Clare Calvert).
Laree' McDaniel posted at
Genealogy.com in relation to various queries the following
and it might relate to my line of
thought....I have Ezekiel born 1755. She is showing Zeal
and attrributing it in some cases as a nickname of Basil which might be true but in noting
Zeal, she also has a record of Ezekiel in the Revolutionary war and ezekiel shows in my
research the elder brother of my Thomas.
I quote her post here:
