Hi,
I do not have all the data on the family line of John Calvert of Belmont Co OH. Someone
from this line will post for you as soon as I can get a message to them to check your
post.
John Calvert b 1766 married Second Ester Jones(Hetty). They moved from Mifflin/Centre Co
along with others to Belmont Co OH. He was the son of John Calvert b bef 1743 probably the
John of Chester County which the researchers are trying to prove and this John is likely
the brother of Isaac Calvert of Greene Co who is probably the Isaac of Chester(which I am
trying to prove). There is Job Calvert who married Chloe ? Ben? but they had no surviving
children as I recall the story from Job's line. John Calvert moved to Belmont around
1800. Darrell Elliott descends from this John as does Gail Huggins.
He had a son John b 1797 and grandson born about 1830(I am going by memory here on the
date for the grandson.
I have seen Huldah in records and had wondered how she fit in.
The Josiah Davis that I have came out Marion Co whose father was John Davis out of
Loudoun. I have not been able to fit this to the Calverts of Belmont. I do know that the
Davis has family related to the Calverts of my line and those of Chester.
As soon as I can raise attention to descendants of John of Mifflin, we will see if they
have something that can tie in. I feel certain that John of Mifflin is the son of John
Calvert b 1766.
Job and his wife Chloe are a mystery as far as children. Stories are that she couldn't
have children after some incident. I can speculate about that but it would be just
that--indian atrocity on the frontier of PA perhaps, she supposedly went insane. One story
has it because she could not bear children. I do not know about this.
I guess last but not least is John Calvert b 1777 in PA. I don't know his wife's
name but I do have one of his sons lines, John and grandson Aaron who migrates to Iowa.
Later, after Aaron's death, a great grandson John returns to IL and moves on to near
Tulsa where the descendants now live. I have not proven which line John Comes from. He
might be a son of Isaac Calvert of my line as his birthdate fits a missing link in the
line and the locale is right. I am working on getting a participant for the DNA project at
FT/DNA.
