Have you been able to find out what Ft. Trumbull was used for in the 1820's? I know
that Charles Calvert was
there during the 1820 Census, married a Grace Fingers, apparently had two children in
Connecticut then moved to
Washington, DC where he and his children, and his grandchildren remained. Since Charles
came from Hull England
and arrived in 1818, I'm curious why he was at Ft. Trumbull, seems as if he might have
been in some type of
military outfit. Do you live in the Conn. area? I'm still in the DC area where I was
born.
Thanks for whatever you can tell me.

I don't have any information on Charles, but have been trying to trace
my Calvert line with roots in the Ft. Trumbull area. If you get any information
on him, I would appreciate an email. As far as your request for sites to
research on passenger lines, I would recommend trying
Cyndislist.com first
and look for passenger manifests. Good luck.
