Karen,
Are you a descendant of John and Esther Jones Calvert through their
daughter Hannah Mercer Calvert? Or, are you of another Calvert family?
David Bell has been trying to find a male Calvert descendant of John and
Esther to take the test.
Thanks.

I have also been involved in the Calvert DNA project. The DNA was
submitted under the name Earnie Calvert and is an open record so you can
see it. The only Calvert he matches closely is an Arkansas submittal who,
I believe, is descended from the same brothers that I am. I also find
this very strange but am waiting for a bigger DNA pool to be deposited in
the repository.
Everything I know leads to George Calvert (the Younger) of Prince William
County, Virginia. His daughter Cynthia was the mother of my ancestor
Alexander who moved from Virginia (probably Bedford County) to Kentucky,
then to White County, Illinois by 1827.
There is a lot of speculation about my George Calvert; he is believed to
be the son of another George whose parentage is unsubstantiated. The
father George appears in the Stafford County, Virginia rent rolls in 1723.
This family is a series of puzzles. The wife of George the Younger is
unknown; as is the father of my Alexander. Cynthia's last name was
Calvert and her sons are named Calvert. That could mean more than one thing.
Thanks for the information. I will keep your notes and watch the DNA matches.
Karen
