Cherokee ancestry is indeed a possibility, but my husband and I are having
much difficulty documenting anything. The William Calvert who (it is
rumored) came from Ireland and eventually settled in Tennessee fathered
three sons, one of whom married a Cherokee. That son, however, is not in my
husband's line. Many thanks for your input.

Because of the migration pattern here I am wondering if there could
be
Cherokee ancestry involved? If the migration was from northeast Alabama
to
north Arkansas and occurred during the early 1800's, this would
suggest
that
this is the case.
