I found your Ann in Rootsweb this morning as I was checking it out for
myself. You can look it up for yourself by getting Rootsweb and asking for
Calvert, Ann. She was b 1650 Dromgora, Seagoe, Armagh, Ireland and d 1697
Shellpot Creek, New Castle Co, DE. She was d/o Thomas and Jane. she marr
Valentine Hollingsworth 1672 Ireland. Now this is not FACT. I did not
research it. It is from the Internet and needs to be verified and
questioned. I did not copy down the email address of the researcher. But
thought you'd like to know this.

Subject: Re: [CALVERT] Calverts Who Were Quakers
Cathy,
My Calvert ancestor was Ann Calvert who married Valentine Hollingsworth.
I
have looked into this and found that, although she was not a
descendant of
the Lords Baltimore who founded Maryland, she did have a common ancestor
with
them (Leonard Calvert who married Alicia de Crossland). In fact, she
was
rather closely related. I think George and Leonard were her greatuncles
(or
is it granduncles?--her grandfather's brothers). The book
"Immigration of
the Irish Quakers Into Pennsylvania" mentions that there was once a
territorial dispute between Lord Baltimore and William Penn which meant
that
Valentine Hollingsworth and his wife Ann were caught in the middle
with
conflicting loyalties. Let me know if this conflicts with anything more
that
you know.
Thanks,
Ruth
